👋🏻🎧 It pains me, but I have to bail on this audiobook. The guitar portions, of which there are many, are too loud and really distract from Simon‘s narration. I‘m interested in the story, but this audio is terrible. Will pick it back up in print some time.

gradcat You know it never occurred to me that you would have music in the audiobook. I can see how you might prefer the print version in a book such as this one, especially if it becomes too distracting. 5y

britt_brooke @gradcat Occasionally, an author might have a few seconds of music between essays or something, but this one has it in the middle of chapters and for extended periods. Distracting and annoying. Had it been at a lower volume than her voice (which was reading the story), it would‘ve been much better. 5y

I enjoyed this. There are some juicy stories. My only complaint is that I did the audio because she reads it and every time the music comes on you struggle to hear her voice. Very annoying. You think they would have noticed.

#MarchIntoThe70s I read this memoir last year and was completely enchanted by Carly Simon. She led a very colorful life & her memoir reflects all of her highs & lows. And big reveal #YoureSoVain was NOT just about Warren Beatty. According to Carly, there were 3 boys who she focused on when writing this song but she only felt comfortable publicly mentioning WB. And did you know Carly‘s dad was Simon from the Simon & Schuster Publishing House.
