I occasionally enjoy a good conspiracy theory and a mystery that mixes art, science, and religion seems like it should be a surefire hit. But I'd forgotten that I find DB's writing kind of annoying. This one was repetitive and choppy, yet still entertaining. But my biggest compliant was with our hero, Robert. For a scholar/ professor who has made a career out of learning and deciphering the meanings of symbols and ancient languages, he was

bookandbedandtea exceedingly cynical and condescending throughout the entire book. I don't think he had a single conversation where he didn't express disbelief about the ideas being presented to him. He even frequently told people their information/ concepts/ beliefs were flat out wrong simply because he'd never heard the ideas before. I wanted to slap him. 1w

I think this was my third or fourth reading of this one. I must remember not to give it away again because the time will come when I‘ll want to read it again. With the exception of the relentless sexualization of grieving Vittoria, I find this book so much fun.

I did read “DaVinci Code“ and “Angels and Demons“ but nothing else by Brown.
