I first came upon Emily Tesh through the Greenhollow Duology. 'The Incandescent' is quite different, but still has beautiful prose. I love dark academia and like how the main POV is from a head director rather than a student. You get to see a different side of the academia. I also enjoyed the romance. The audiobook narration is wonderful. 4 stars.

2✨ This book hurt. We have a demon that loves her city that is destroyed. An angel helps her rebuild, but more happens that caused my personal heartache. It is short in jumps through time a lot because of that. Then it hurt. 😭 #FableBR @Littlewolf1

Ah, someone took the idea “what if there's actually something sinister behind all the murders happening in [small town]“ and ran with it.

I found it a bit slow at times, and just... didn't wholly click with it. But overall it was a fun idea.

Alright, this book was not as good as So Thirsty. But it was fun. From the dysfunctional family dynamics to the haunted house it‘s a fun read for spooky season! 👻

I finished this just before the deadline this evening. I described this to a friend as “The Exorcist on meth,” and I think that description held up pretty well. This was gory but pretty damn fun!
