Thought provoking. I loved the story telling and seeing how the lives of the three protagonists intertwined despite being set decades apart. Definite pick

Hey peeps!!! These are the books ive pulled for Group C of #LMPBC let me know which you‘s like.
I have enjoyed all of the August Snow novels, but Stephen Mack Jones latest, Deus X is really something special. Father Michael Grabowsk, who August has known since the Franciscan baptized him, has been forced to retire in light of unsubstantiated abuse allegations. Investigating, Snow discovers that the false accusations stem from a power mad Bishop who wants a Vatican post. Beautifully written, great Detroit details. Highly, highly recommended.

My first Joyce Carol Oates, and this was scary. I actually had to stop reading towards the end.
Stephen Mack Jones has a new August Snow, Detroit Mexicantown book out!!!! I am so excited as this series is so freaking good I am jumping around with glee. If you have not yet discovered this series well get on the ball as it is highly recommended. August Snow is my hero!!
A woman is walking down a hotel corridor. How did she end up there? As we learn that, we also have Babysitter lurking in the background. A serial killer operating in Detroit in 1976/ 77 who killed children. Are these things connected?
I‘m easily scared, but it‘s been a long time since I‘ve been this scared while reading. The mixture of not wanting to find out what happens but at the same time you need to keep on reading.
I read two books set in the 70‘s, each about a serial killer within days of each other. A young wife and mother finds herself restless in her marriage and disheartened with motherhood. She embarks on an affair with a mysterious and dangerous man who may be connected to a serial killer prowling her city. I thought the writing was ok and the pacing was a bit slow but the ending was disappointing 😬 between a pick and so-so
When something is for free it‘s usually too good to be true as Moore discovered. Moore was given a “free house” by a group in Detroit that was promoting free houses for writes. She was one of four people given a house. Moore realizes close to 2 years in that the organization is mismanaged & there are several issues that take years to fix. It was an interesting book & I enjoyed her retelling of her experiences. Her writing style was a little hard
Enjoying this series by fellow Kalamazooian D.E. Johnson, I am learning so much about the early auto industry in Detroit while enjoying a good mystery.
I'm a Michigan gal and never knew electric cars preceded combustion engine in Detroit.
