My brother sent this to me after reading it. It takes me awhile to get through nonfiction but I‘m going to begin! #pulitzerprize #discontent #nonfiction

I love that this paragraph uses at least three synonyms for #discontent and hints at a couple more. #QuotsyJan20

DebinHawaii Nicely played! 🤗 4y

#QuotsyJan20 #Discontent

I went through a lot of e-book to find some “discontent” & had to resort to my old standby, Pride and Prejudice. Judging from the number of times Mrs. Bennet‘s nerves acted up, she was frequently discontent! 😉🤣

I borrowed Alice Pattullo‘s illustration from my beloved Rockport Classics Reimagined edition. 💙

sprainedbrain Her poor nerves! 😂 4y
Herschelian My kids (now grown up) used to mock me when they were in their teens, calling me ‘Mrs Bennett‘ and saying ‘ oh we shall be ruined, what will become of us?‘ whenever I got mad at them about something. 4y
DebinHawaii @Herschelian That is hilarious! 🤣🤣🤣 (edited) 4y

(Day 7 - #Discontent)

*The character speaking is referring to Spain under Franco, when the country was facing civil war. Some things change; some things stay the same.

gradcat Beautiful! Flaubert is a heavenly writer, isn‘t he? ♥️♥️♥️ 4y
amber_ldsmom @gradcat Yes! I named my first daughter Emma. ❤️ 4y
gradcat @amber_ldsmom Wow! That‘s really a nice name anyway, but to do it after Bovary is so cool! ♥️ 4y

amber_ldsmom @gradcat ❤️ A lot of people don‘t understand why because she was so awful, but I just love the romance of her. She‘s truly a unique and beautifully written character. 4y
gradcat @amber_ldsmom I get it, because yes, the romance, but yes, the romance that just IS when reading Flaubert‘s words—difficult to resist falling in love with his words! ♥️ 4y
amber_ldsmom @gradcat ❤️ I feel that way about Ray Bradbury, too. His writing is like poetry. 4y
gradcat @amber_ldsmom I think I‘m inclined to agree, but it‘s been a VERY long time since I‘ve read Bradbury—but I will say this: I read lots more of his books than Stephen King‘s. 4y
