The weather here has been nuts, and although I'm not a winter person, our lack of winter weather here in Texas is making me wish for colder climates! #readjanuary #dreamingofacolderclimate #vmc #vintageinternational

RealLifeReading What beautiful wintry covers! 8y
EvieBee @RealLifeReading Thank you so much! 💜💛❤️ 8y

Set in Ireland in 'brutal cold' (first page), I'm so looking forward to this one but don't know if it's a summer beach read ... #ReadJanuary #dreamingofacolderclimate

MrsMalaprop I just finished it a week ago. Definitely not a light beach read. However I enjoyed being taken into icy cold, bleak Ireland while I basked in the Australian summer sun 🌞😎. Such a contrast 😊. 8y
Abailliekaras @SMW that sounds good! ☀️⛄️ She's an amazing writer, I can't wait to read it. 8y

This year I am #DreamingOfAColderClimate
The weather here has been cold at times, warmer at others, but I would like a little bit of snow before winter is over ☃️❄️

Moonpa Kelley Armstrong is awesome! 8y
Bookworm54 @Moonpa she is one of my favourite authors, though I got slightly (and now majorly) behind on her publications. Damn that woman writes fast! 8y

With hot days like this I'm dreaming (reading) of a colder climate!
#readjanuary #dreamingofacolderclimate

Sue Holy cow! Where are you? Brisbane has been delightful for the last week or so. 8y
Jhullie @Sue we were camping out past Maroon Dam on a friend's property. It was dreadfully hot until the storms rolled in. Back in Brizzie now thankfully. 8y
Sue Ah, that explains it. Hope you had fun and didn't fry to badly! 8y

Well, I don't know that I'm exactly #dreamingofacolderclimate, but Russia certainly would qualify if I were. #readjanuary Day 6

Yesterday I was #dreamingofacolderclimate and today I am reading while on my train to work and everything is dusted by snow ❄😀 Not yet the full blown winter I am hoping for but Mother nature must have read my post yesterday 😉I even went outside last night to walk in the fresh snow.

Suet624 Why have I not read this book??? 8y
I-read-and-eat @Suet624 I don't know but you should! It's very good. After every story Pullman briefly reflects on it which is very interesting 😊 8y

I guess it's good that I forgot to post for #dreamingofacolderclimate because this is also my choice for #booksaboutnature ! Although I'm not so much dreaming of a colder climate, I suppose--rather, a different perspective? This book was recommended to me by my aunt, and I've decided to read the almanac portion of the essays with each month (so this picture is from "January"). I'm finding this book really beautiful and fascinating! #readjanuary

syasutake I love this book! 8y
candyflossramparts This is lovely! I just added it to my stack. 😍 8y
readinginthedark @syasutake @candyflossramparts I've never read it before, but I'm really enjoying the immersion in nature. Really beautifully written. 8y

Pickpick

Today's read for book club tied nicely with the #readjanuary prompt, #dreamingofacolderclimate. Genly Ai is envoy to a planet known (aptly) as Winter. The people on Winter do not have genders as we perceive them. I found this book thought-provoking and extremely timely, as it delves into personhood, bias, prejudice, story, patriotism (and its perversion), and the flaws in our perceptions. Le Guin is, as always, brilliant. ❄️❄️❄️❄️ (4/5 blizzards)

I'm not #DreamingOfAColderClimate, but this book was close at hand, and I'm assuming Russia is pretty chilly this time of year. #ReadJanuary
