pick3.7⭐️ I honestly still don‘t know how I feel about that entire ending. Did I see some of that coming, yes, its a YA. It‘s easy to figure it out. That sounds bad, but I struggle YAs as it‘s written for younger audiences so sometimes the plot, the premise or the mystery doesn‘t quite add up to what you would get in other reads. Was it good, yeah it was. It‘s not my favorite mystery of all time, but overall it was worth the read. #HomeTownBookClub
pick4.8⭐️ Cozy Spicy Fantasy. The story was so fun, and just what I needed for the month. I enjoyed the character development, the plot and all the quirky side characters. Took away from it just a little bit was feeling like I‘m in a fantasy world at one point, to turning around and I feeling like I‘m in New Orleans. It just shifted me out of the story a little bit, but overall this was an amazing, quick and funny read. #HomeTownBookClub
pick5⭐️ "All we're promised is now". This book was one of two that was picked for my #HometownBookClub book read for July. I wanted something cozy this month, but this was definitely not that. What I can say is this book is absolutely PHENOMENAL! What I expected was a cute pirate treasure hunting type of book. What I got was bad ass sea witches, archaeology finds, so much drama, and a great love story. Just love, no spice. 10/10 recommend.
I‘m not a big fan of dystopian, but in the great and powerful wheel of genres chooses dystopian, we go to dystopia. This is our #HometownBookClub read for June, and I have high hopes for it as this is written by the same woman who wrote The Handmaids Tale.
pick4.3⭐️ I love this… I thought it was super cute and fun and definitely had the cozy fantasy feel. This was our May book choice, along with two graphic novels, for my #HometownBookClub. I will say I got a little bit more spicier than I expected, but I read a lot spicier so it didn‘t bother me. However, we usually try to stay away from spice in our Book Club picks as not everybody enjoys them, so that was offputting. Otherwise, 100% recommend.
pick4.4⭐️ I know there‘s a lot of back-and-forth on whether this book is good. It‘s definitely different, it is not an easy read, but I loved it. The characters were good, it gets me in my emotions, the world building is on point. I thought it was great. This is my last book of the month and the second #HometownBookClub read for March.
pick4.2⭐️ this book was so much better than I thought it was gonna be, especially considering it‘s YA. The reason I gave it a 4.2 is the endings sucked so bad. I know it was a cliffhanger to lead to book 2, but there was so many holes and unanswered question at the end. Did it work, absolutely because I‘m reading the next book this next month. #HomeTownBookClub
so-so2.7⭐️ I am so glad that people enjoyed this book, I just was not one of them. This was supposed to be a Thriller and I wan not only, not thrilled, I was bored. There was also just so much going on in the book with the multiple POVs and all the multiple time lines. This was my #HomeTownBookClub pick for January.
pick3.6 ⭐️ this is a pic, but barely. This was my #HometownBookClub book choice for the month, so it was read using Audible as this has been the groups preferred method. However, I wish I had the book in my hand so I could‘ve thrown it across the room several times. The primary love story was super cute, but the background story had me up in arms the entire time.
