And I spent the last of my gift card (and then a little more) on these beauties. I know nothing about any of them, but it‘s been a while since I blindly browsed. 🤞🏻 they‘re good! #bookhaul

This was such a fun book! The leftover heroes from a massive and tragic battle must reunite for a wedding. They are all 10 years older but not all of them have grown wiser. I loved the very real way it takes on loss and trauma and the growth and struggles of the main characters while also providing a top notch story and fantasy world. Beatrice, Elowen & Clare are compelling and you root for them!
2.5 Stars • Meh • This Will Be Fun follows four friends - Clare, Beatrice, Elowen, and Galwell - who reunite at a wedding. Each is dealing with personal issues: Clare with divorce, Beatrice with commitment fears, Elowen with work stress, and Galwell with career woes. Their reunion stirs up past dynamics, leading to humorous and poignant moments as they navigate their friendships and life's challenges together.
Meh. I could see what the author was trying to do but it fell just short for me. It felt like a really awkward high school reunion where everyone still has the emotional intelligence of a 16 year old. That said, I did like the final battle. A suitably epic ending.
A Hilarious tongue in cheek adventure filled with slow burn romances, overcoming trauma, remembering who you are, deciding who you want to be and a lot of hilarious satire on the more common tropes in fantasy. a cozy adjacent adventure, where four heroes must learn how to be heroes all over again, all the while trying to avoid the simmering resentment due to their shared pasts.
