One of my faves. This was my first Victor LaValle and made him an autobuy author for me.

Day 3

vivastory This was my first LaValle, too. Did you see he wrote the foreword for the new annotated Lovecraft 2mo
rohit-sawant @vivastory Added this one to my wishlist on Amazon just days ago along with the annotated Dracula! 2mo

#horrorcovercrush day 6
First published in 1979 , the series kept its popularity with young teens (and adults)way into the 80s .V.C.Andrews wrote the first 4 before her death from breast cancer .It was a closely guarded secret for years that the books were ghost written after that .

Hooked_on_books A classic! 2mo
LeahBergen I think I bought this in 1980. We were obsessed with this book in my junior high. 😆😆 2mo
Jerdencon I read this book when I was about 10 or 11 - clearly my reading was not censored back then! Loved this book - read it so many times! 2mo

vivastory I haven't read a Nevill novel yet, but his piece is one of my favorites I've read so far in 2mo
rohit-sawant @vivastory I'm kinda drawing a blank on his piece in the antho but really dug his other short stories from his collection. Can't wait to hear your review of Seize the Night. I enjoyed pretty much every story within, especially the John Langan one. 2mo
vivastory The Langan story was phenomenal. Vampire as Lovecraftian cosmic horror?! Yes, please! 2mo
rohit-sawant @vivastory Right? 🙌🏼 Speaking of Lovecraftian cosmic horror and anthos, I have some publishing news I'll be sharing shortly! 😁 I should've posted about it yesterday but I was super weary after work and it slipped my mind. 2mo
vivastory That's very exciting news! Looking forward to your post! 2mo
batsy This movie is on my Netflix list! Just waiting for the right moment (i.e. daytime & courage) to watch it 😂 I should probably read the book first! 2mo
rohit-sawant @batsy The movie is so good! I like to describe it as Blair Witch on crack meets Algernon Blackwood's "The Wendigo." I went into it without knowing it was an adaptation and it's one of few cases where that enhanced my enjoyment of it. A collaborator of Guillermo del Toro has worked on the design and it shows. But it's more than just a scary film and the characters make it shine. Hope you check it out soon! 2mo
batsy You've definitely sold me on it! I just need to parcel out in small doses how much horror I can take 😂 because I'm in the midst of slowly making my way through the French series, Marianne. Have you seen that one? It's brilliant so far and very, very creepy—it's got a gloomy, oppressive atmosphere that really ramps up the terror. 2mo
rohit-sawant @batsy Whoa, that sounds pretty tense and well crafted. Will surely be checking it out. Just read the show's IMdB page and the fact that it has a writer as a central character only adds to my excitement. Dig that subgenre thanks to Stephen King (1408, The Dark Half, It, Bag if Bones) 😄 2mo

Tamra I need to check out this collection! 2mo

LeahBergen @vivastory Thank you for coming up with the hashtag! I loved your posts, too. 👍🏻 2mo
LeahBergen @Tamra I‘m enjoying it slowly and reading one story a day. The back of the book has the history of each heritage home that a story is based upon and a bit about any hauntings/legends associated with it. It‘s fun! 2mo
LeahBergen @Aimeesue That‘s a good deal! 👍🏻 2mo
