This was a bit too long book and dragged. I had the same feeling that I had after book 2: this should have been a duology.

I liked characters. Or at least mostly - I found some of them annoying. It didn't help that Celia joined with our group in this one.

One twist in the middle of the book started to repete the plot of book 1 but only worse.

This was better than book 2 but not even close to book 1.

FantasyChick I've been holding off on this book for this exact reason. Shame because I adored book 1! I'm starting to think this series should have just been a standalone 🤔 2y
PageShifter @FantasyChick You might be right! Here were some touching scenes and had more action than book 2. It might just be that book 2 was too big disappointment to me and I couldn't enjoy this one either for that reason. Or maybe after seeing how many has loved this I thought this would be something like book 1. And I agree - I loved book 1 :( My theory is that author had unlimited time to write the first one but couldn't get it work with deadlines. 2y

I forgot to post this earlier today. 🤦‍♀️ Anyway... my total reading time for March was 108 hours. My goal was 100 so did well there. I wanted to finish these last two books in March, I came close but they will be part of April instead.

On to April! 📖📚📖💚📖📚

43/150 I hate to end March and #KickTheSlump readathon on a down note, I doubt I'll finish another book before the end of the day, but this book was a bummer. Seemed more a desire for the author to work out his philosophical feelings about the nature of man than tell a entertaining story. Silverberg is one of my favorite authors, but this one is a total swing and miss. On the plus side, Stefan Rudnicki's narration was excellent as always. 2 ⭐⭐

DieAReader Fantastic job!!! Thanks for reading along with us♥️🤓 2y

The Tritonian Ring | Lyon Sprague De Camp

Pickpick

42/150 While this book is rather short, 212 pages, it's not short on action and adventures. Prince Vakar is on a quest to find the Tritonian Ring to protect his kingdom. Vakar starts out a little vain and foppish, but once the action starts, he quickly shifts to hero mode. There's sea battles, sword fights, terrible monsters, beautiful women (even a female satyr), magic and a bit of 50s style sex scenes. Continued in the comments ⬇️⬇️

RamsFan1963 Recommended for people who want a fun Sword & Sorcery adventure, but don't want to read 13 volumes to get the story finished. 2y

This was too complex for my taste but worldbuilding was awesome.

This had an awesome cast of characters and there weren't too many of them. But somehow even their deaths left me cold.

I especially loved the beginning: it was so tense but then I was a bit disappointed when I noticed how rushed it was suddenly. And then started the major - and dullest - part of the book.
