It's tough to write a book about a villain that makes the reader understand her perspective yet still want to see her go DOWN, but I think Meyer hit it. I loved reading about Levana's background and the more details about how she became queen, and I also loved how Meyer gave her multiple opportunities to change her path - but Levana justified her actions to herself each time and kept going. Even though it was a little hard to take a break in the ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) action between Scarlet and Winter, I still really ended up enjoying this one and feel like I'm going into Winter with plenty of backstory. I do feel bad for Levana, but Meyer did a great job showing how Levana took the bad things in her life and embraced them and used them for a justification for doing more bad things, instead of realizing that those things didn't have to define her. So excited to see how this series wraps up!! 7h

The deeper I get into this series the more I love it. The characters are fabulous. The plots are always good and I love the sarcasm in the dialogue. I didn't see that ending coming and enjoyed the continued development of the characters. I listened to this book and thought the narrator was excellent. He added to the experience. 5⭐ for both book and narrator. Another book for #SeriesRead2022

Not my favorite book or character, but Eve grew on me (though surprisingly, Kristoff is my favorite here). The story felt too long, with at least one too many steps. It‘s a solid installment but not a great one. This is my May #doublespin and one for #seriesread2022

I love this world; how there is different countries with their own magic.

Writing was sometimes annoyingly repetitive and no room was left for reader to understand something her-/himself.

I love to be afraid for characters but you could trust no one important is going to die so that definitely took that feeling away.

Isn't that true @Librarybelle that we use to push forward some books all the time 🤣 And especially series that includes several chunky ones xD

Yay!! I finally finished this #AlmostaChunkster !! I absolutely loved it, so my slow reading speed was definitely not a reflection of my enjoyment! This series is really picking up momentum. Meyer does a fabulous job balancing the different characters and their stories. I am not even sure who I love the most. (Okay, probably Thorne haha) I also think that she captures the themes of each fairy tale so well. Finishing this one wash main goal for ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) #MarvellousMay so everything else this week is just gravy 😂 I am hoping to finish at least two more books, but we will see how the week unwinds!! Next up, a random draw from the windowsill before reading Fairest - even though it was published after the rest of the series, I've seen a lot of recommendations to read it between Cress and Winter to get the full background of Levana, so I'm going for it!

TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - No surprise, it turns out that I'm very attracted to men with a snarky sense of humor 😂 3d

1915 Mean Girls
WWI will we or won‘t we
President Wilson tap dances around women‘s suffrage
Our intrepid girl reporter continues to navigate a career and life in tumultuous times

A little Forrest Gump-like at times (Woodrow Wilson AND Thomas Edison AND Margaret Sanger? Really?) but overall an interesting story. MC is a great character around which to build a series, but nothing new seems to be forthcoming?

I liked Benito most but otherwise characters weren't extremely interesting.

I hated this world where women were only objects and were used to make business (=arranged marriages). Then they lived with their husbands money and had nothing to say about things.

This felt long, thinking about how little happened. Ending was slightly better.

I love characters in this series and in this one two of them ended up being together, kind of at least. It was so sweet and I was so happy for them.

World is amazing with all these peculiar characters and different supernaturals. These has been light and fun to read.

I loved how main characters were already married. That's so rarely the case in romance novels and I liked that!! A new relationship is only the beginning and there is still so much to go through. I loved also secondary characters, they all felt so alive.

I loved every scene and it was heart-warming to follow their life. I loved the message this book gave. This was really enjoyable to read!

I do love Griffith's descriptive prose. Even though I figured out who the murderer was there were still elements that surprised me. The characters were especially good. They fit the situation and were fully developed. 4⭐ And another book for the #SeriesRead2022 challenge.
