I loved this longer installment. Being introduced to new characters, the return of established found-family, gender and relationship #diversity, a #neurodivergent coded MC, and a future socialist utopia 🚩holding its own against a brutal capitalist dystopia 🍊 was just what I needed to binge 😊
I re-read the previous four Murderbot Diaries earlier this year to refresh my memory so I could read Network Effect, which was a Christmas gift, but then I didn't read Network Effect! Rather than re-re-read the earlier books, I read the synopses on Wikipedia ("Previously on Murderbot Diaries"), and then read nearly half the book overnight! It's good to be back in SecUnit's company ??

pickI watched the show as it had been advertised while we were watching Long Way Home, and I hadn‘t realised it was based on a book.
I found the first book on audible plus (only available until the 5th August, so go now!). While very similar, the show added some extra scenes for dramatic effect.
I enjoyed the sci-fi elements, found the MC (Murderbot) relatable and likeable!, and the audio was great. Will definitely look for more in this series!
pickI love the Murderbot books, and this one was no exception. I‘m invested in what he will do next. This time, I listened to the single narrator version not the dramatization. Both are good. Continued with The Moon Sister. #audiowalk

Today has been a so good. I saw my friend at her farmer's market stand and got some lovely produce. My district's surplus building just happened to have the exact classroom furniture I wanted. The parking meter outside the library had an hour left when I pulled up. The 2nd & 3rd Murderbot books were ready for me even though I checked this morning and had a week left on the hold. The crazy part is, I almost didn't want to leave the house today. ☀️
