#MiddlemarchMarch
quote

I have always been thinking of the different ways in which Christianity is taught, and whenever I find one way that makes it a wider blessing than any other, I cling to that as the truest—I mean that which takes in the most good of all kinds, and brings in the most people as sharers in it. It is surely better to pardon too much, than to condemn too much. #MiddlemarchMarch

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway back in December and had been waiting and waiting for it to come. It'd been 2 months so I basically gave up on getting it. Well lo and behold, it showed up yesterday and the company sent me an extra copy to apologize for the delay. I won't read it until April as I'm still in the throes of #MiddlemarchMarch but I'm looking forward to it!

I loveeee my edition of Middlemarch. I bought it specifically to participate in #Middlemarchmarch and I'm glad I did. I'm way behind though--I didn't start this until the 11th so I'm only on chapter 18. I think the readalong is on like chapter 34?? I'm enjoying George Eliot's snarkiness about the alleged weakness of women. But did I mention how pretty this book is???? 😜

mayusteapot Oh wow! That is a beautiful book! 7y
SaraFair How did you find out about the read along? Darn it, I have a copy and I am needing a reason to start it. 7y
emilyesears @mayusteapot It's the Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition! 7y

emilyesears @SaraFair You should jump in if you want! I started 11 days late! I found out about the readalong on YouTube. Jennifer at Insert Literary Pun Here over there is hosting it. I think the one on IG is hosted by a different person but they have the same hashtag. 7y
mayusteapot @emilyesears Did you know there's a literary inspired web series starting based on the book? It starts today on YouTube 😊 The channel name is Middlemarch: The Series, if you're interested. That's why I started reading the book. 7y
emilyesears @mayusteapot I still haven‘t managed to check the web series out but it sounds cool! 6y

Reading Middlemarch in March with @HotCocoaReads #middlemarchmarch

LeahBergen What a beautiful set! 7y
rubyslippersreads 😍😍😍 7y
Suelizbeth @LeahBergen @rubyslippersreads This set belonged to my grandma. It is missing some volumes, but these were all that she had left. I still love this set, though. Dark green leather, Thomas Nelson and Sons, New York, 1918. They are in fairly decent shape, and I don't know their worth, but, to me, they are priceless. 7y

christineandbooks I've been reading on Serial Reader but didn't know there was a read-along! Where do I find the details? I'm sadly behind in SR but wanting to get caught up. Struggling with the story a bit... 7y
Suelizbeth @HotCocoaReads I am enjoying it but I am slightly behind. Time to catch up this weekend. 7y
