☀️ I‘m only on Book One, but I‘m in it for the long haul.
☀️ Reading, Closet cleaning, Hair cut!!!! 💇♀️🙌
☀️ Jamoca Almond Fudge from Baskin-Robbins
☀️ I played the flute in junior high and high school, which was a *long* time ago. Does it count?
☀️ No problem!
Happy holiday weekend to all who have one!
Book #71: I rather enjoyed Middlemarch. It started off slow, but as the book went on it picked up its pace rather well. Although the book was the longest I have yet read on this list, about 900 pages, the plot was simple enough that it was easy to follow throughout the entire book. Middlemarch is a town in England where the book follows the lives...
“‘My dear Mrs Casaubon,‘ said Farebrother, smiling gently at her ardour, ‘character is not cut in marble - it is not something solid and unalterable. It is something living and changing, and may become diseased as our bodies do.‘
‘Then it may be rescued and healed,‘ said Dorothea.
-George Eliot, Middlemarch

Update on #BookFitnessChallenge: Finished the Princess Diarist (audio) this weekend. Started the audio version of Middlemarch yesterday. I have been 100% so far with my supplements. I have walked twice so far, I have two more days to add to the total. Hope all participants are doing well!!
I did it! I got through the entire book! I think this was my third try and I resorted to listening to the audiobook on 1.25 speed... Yeah, it was a lot of drama and pearl clutching, so if you like that sort of weepy distress then this is the book for you! 😁 Now if I could just get through Swann's Way!
Over 35 hours. 🙀 Well that should get me through my Spring Cleaning and Gardening.#bigspringread
My first classic of the year
London Book and Screen Week events open now to book....
It's hour 42 of this #24in48 and that means our last challenge of the weekend is up at 24in48.com! Come tell us about your "Swiss Army" book rec (and don't forget to check to see if you won a past door or challenge prize).

We are finally back from holiday and regular posting habits can recommence. (I know it‘s a mobile app, but I just don‘t get around to it. I need my space. 🤷🏻♀️)
So, Christmas #BookHaul part 1/3. These are mine. Very happy to get beautiful cloth bound editions of two of my favourite books. 😍 Also happy to receive two award winning books by Norwegian authors. I haven‘t been able to keep up with Norwegian lit at all since I moved to the UK.
Read much more than I thought I would this year!
Happy New Year everyone! 🎊🎆🎉
I finished the #litsyAtoZ challenge! 6 of these also meet the #gilmoregirlsreadingchallenge. 11 were audiobooks. Favorite was Middlemarch — so, so wonderful! The Golden Notebook is among the worst books I‘ve read in my entire life, not to mention the worst by far of this challenge. 😂
I have always been fascinated and impressed by authors who can write a book that is still read hundreds of years after its publication. To be the #creator of such a book deserves some respect, even though I might not always love the book itself. 📚
This is how I felt about the tagged book. It turned out ok in the end and it got one of my prompts for my #popsugarchallenge filled so it's not all bad.
“Oh, you dear good father!” cried Mary, putting her hands round her father‘s neck while he bent his head placidly, willing to be caressed. “I wonder if any other girl thinks her father is the best man in the world!”
“Nonsense, child; you‘ll think your husband better.”
“Impossible,” said Mary, relapsing into her usual tone; “husbands are an inferior class of men, who require keeping in order.”

4. Yes, I usually have a reread going to help me wind down before bed. Current reread is tagged.
This is a gratuitous, non-bookish post just to show that there is hope, even for white dudes. 😂 This is my husband being very non-patriarchal while winding a tangled skein of yarn for me, wearing a “Believe Women” t-shirt, and sitting next to a stack of books by women. ♥️
