⭐️⭐️💫
I won this book from Goodreads so thanks but I just couldn't love it at all. I only enjoyed the parts about the shipwreck, the 4 guys and their families but this book had so much unnecessary fillers, it had me skimming through most of it. I honestly hate giving a low review especially when you can tell a author done her research but that's what they ask for🤷‍♀️

A very belated thank you to you @robinb This was such a nice surprise to receive. My apologies for not sending the thank you much sooner! Thank you for your kindness and passing it along ❤️. I‘m saving it for a summer read. #LitsyLove

robinb Oh, I‘m so glad that you don‘t have it already! I liked it and hope that you‘ll enjoy it too. You are most welcome. 🤗 2y
JamieArc @robinb I did not already own it, but I love that cover so it‘s one I have been eyeing for a while. My life has been a bit busy and I‘ve been moving very slow on things, so please know how grateful I am to receive it despite my delayed thank you! 2y
robinb @JamieArc No need for an apology or explanation…no worries. 😘😘 (edited) 2y

In 1984, a ship carrying 4 fishermen out of Montauk did not make it back to port when a major storm suddenly blew up. Instead of trying to imagine what happened, since no one living knows, Fairbanks tells the story of the men and their home, as well as those left behind. I really enjoyed this. And I think the cover is gorgeous.

Suet624 That cover is terrific. 2y

“On March 22, 1984, the Wind Blown, a commercial fishing boat, departed from Montauk harbor on eastern Long Island around dusk to begin its first trip of tilefish-spring season.”

Mehso-so

In March of 1984, a rogue storm resulted in the loss of the Wind Blown & her four man crew to the freezing waters off Montauk, New York. Fairbanks delivers their story in informative, historical pages with atmospheric descriptions & thorough research. The generous back story & wandering anecdotes sometimes lead the book astray. A fairly bumpy & disjointed read that sometimes had me lost & confused about the characters, but did teach me a lot.

I'm not a big fan of Romance, but this is a great novel about the love of two people that ends tragically

ScoobySnacks3 Do you know if the show “The Affair” is based off of this book? 3y
bookaholic1 @ScoobySnacks3 No I don't, I barely watch T.V 3y

Bailedbailed

Vapid story about society women in 1938 who summer in Montauk. Skipped ahead to the ending-it got more exciting but I had already bailed.
