pickA True Crime story that was told excellent. I like True Crime books that tell the events straight. Jervis researched exceptionally well.
The Devil Behind the Badge tells about Juan David Ortiz, a Border Patrol Officer, who started murdering prostitutes. I must say that it is a very unsettling book. Major Trigger Warnings: Drug Abuse, Sexual Assault, and Murder. The one thing I wish would have been different in the book is that the ⬇️
pickI read a lot of WWII nonfiction history and historical fiction books. I had never heard about the Propaganda Girls that worked in the Marole Operations (MO) branch of the OSS. Propaganda Girls tells of four women who worked in the MO office.
Rogak, you can tell when you read it, a thoroughly researched book. These 4 ladies were a major part of WWII. They helped with false information to enemy soldiers trying to get them to surrender. ⬇️

I never even heard of what happened in Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001. Some of my friends on Litsy had read it and recommended it. I'm so glad they did. It's an uplifting story. It shows that there are still people in this world who will go out of their way to help people and be nice. I remember how America came together on September 11, and I wonder what has happened to us. We are such a divided country now. ⬇️

panCould be just me, but I didn't like this book as much as I liked 'Vanderbilt ' by him. It seemed it was more gossip, and I got tired of hearing about Mrs. Astor's jewels. I thought I would get more out of it than I did. Mine is not a popular opinion. Others enjoyed it, you may too.
