I‘ve been looking forward to this piece the entire year. I loved this 2 yrs ago when I first listened to this music in this book. I didn‘t quite blow me away the same way now, but still amazing.

And if you need a reason to listen this is what Burton-Hill writes:
“This sonata, by the way, is the piece used by the scientists who investigated the phenomenon known, for shorthand, as the ‘Mozart effect‘. They found that listening to this music for

AnneCecilie just ten minutes each day could sufficiently rewire our brains to make us smarter. It could also help treat those suffering from epilepsy and other neurological conditions.” 20h
tpixie Interesting! And beautiful 🤩 Thanks https://youtu.be/tT9gT5bqi6Y?si=qeDJckoeSAD4szBY 20h
sarahbarnes Very cool! I just went to an event where they talked about how Maurice Sendak listened to Mozart often, including when he was drawing. 20h
AnneCecilie @sarahbarnes I had to google Maurice Sendak, but that‘s interesting. Maybe it increases creativity too? 20h
sarahbarnes I bet you‘re right that it does. I loved his books when I was a kid. 16h

My edition seems to want to shed its pages - and it‘s only February. How are you managing a reread @AnnCecilie ?

AnneCecilie Mine has no problems with that. Maybe you was unlucky with your copy? 2w
Lcsmcat @AnneCecilie We did buy it secondhand, but it didn‘t look like it had ever been read. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2w

Jeff Tweedy is a great musician, lyricist, and interview. He‘s no stranger to a good quote. This book is full of them.

Yet it‘s just okay. Some of these songs mean nothing to me; others I‘m in lock step with Tweedy, but for different reasons. Isn‘t that the point though? Don‘t we ALL have our own world within songs?

Pickpick

This book is a great way to get to know (better) the artist, it focuses mainly on Pärt's search for innovation and inspiration, his quest for finding his musical language. The political background about how his work was impacted by the Soviet government is also interesting.
I loved how the illustrations managed to incorporate the music theme.

Anna40 I liked this one too! 😊 3w
JulietteReadsALot @Anna40 Yes, just when I was done writing my review, I checked the book page, and saw yours, haha. It made me smile 😊 3w

#TuesdayTunes @TieDyeDude

"In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
And the sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
Neath the black, the sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain?
Black hole sun
Won't you come"

Bookwomble @lil1inblue It's a great track, isn't it? 😊 4w
TieDyeDude I listened to a lot of classic rock and country music growing up. This is one of the first rock/alt rock songs that I remember really catching my ear. 3w
