When I went into this I couldn't understand all the low ratings but as I read it made more sense. If you go into this expecting a twisty, edge of your seat thriller.. you're not going to get it. This is slow and drawn out and focuses more on the individual women's lives than the mystery at the center. Treat this as a literary women's fiction/historical fiction (Art & Jewish) with a dash of mystery in the background. If so, it's very enjoyable!
Added this one to my list in 2020. Hope it is good after all this time 🤣 #18of2024

According to Goodreads I read this book in 2010 after winning it in a GR giveaway. I don‘t remember much about it but I always remember the bright cover with suitcases on it. 🧳 💛
Speaking of book and luggage, how cute is this library suitcase I found on Amazon?! I am tempted! Here‘s the link; https://www.amazon.com/Library-Bookshelf-Personalized-Luggage-Suitcase/dp/B0CDTJ...
Distracting myself from assignments and housework with this book club choice. I've read a few by her, I quite like the gentle pace with character revelations. This is slightly dated, of the early 2000s, and there's a few cringey bits...
This was a slow burn mystery, and when I mean slow burn, think snails are faster. But the ending was worth it. All the little twists and turns were great.
Darcy and three of her best friends are called to France by her grandmother, who owns a Chateau and has some secrets thar she is ready to come clean on. Unfortunately, she dies before her secrets are out.

About to bail - why do they all sound the same and why are they all awful? Anyone who has read this are any of them redeemable?
I think there are books that I'd just rather be reading. There's nothing wrong with the writing except it has a slow start. I'm about 100 pages in and the murder set up in the prologue has yet to occur.
