“She waters them, feeds them, and makes sure they get enough sun. She watches them grow.“
Mrs. Spitzer is a teacher with a gift for nurturing young minds. Each year, she receives a packet of seeds from her principal and tends to her garden with love, care, and patience. Through this beautiful metaphor, Mrs. Spitzer‘s Garden by Edith Pattou celebrates the dedication, wisdom, and kindness of teachers who help their students grow and thrive.
The extended metaphor of a garden is beautifully executed, offering a timeless message about growth, care, and patience.
I would use this book in my classroom to talk about diversity and different cultures.
The sillyness continues. Didn't care for the one story with the tutor fearing his wife, seems to cut pretty close to making light of domestic abuse. The 'Yor needs to invent marital problems' side plot exhausts me. The main arc in this book definitely feels like it's been cut off to make way for the next book, but am I wrong in thinking that's a manga staple? 1/2
We hope you enjoy this fourth-wall-breaking moment. 😁
This was a very good book and I love the message behind it. I also really enjoyed the illustrations and deeper meaning behind the pictures.
