It's been a good year for books, so far, but I think I've narrowed it down to my top favorites (in no particular order):
Pandora's Jar: Women in Greek Mythology by Natalie Haynes
Embers of War trilogy by Gareth L. Powell
The Goodbye Coast by Joe Ide
The Rise and Reign of The Mammals by Steven Brusatte
An Immense World by Ed Yong
The Seven Spears of The W'dch'ck by Lionel Fenn
Atlas of The Heart by Brene Brown

How to Tell a Story: The Essential Guide to Memorable Storytelling from The Moth | Catherine Burns, The Moth, Meg Bowles, Jenifer Hixson, Sarah Austin Jenness, Kate Tellers

Mehso-so

Really tight between a pick and so-so, and while it was well written and others might find it useful, it didn‘t work for me.

The producers of The Moth events and podcasts share their tips to crafting the perfect story. They spoke briefly about stories in job interviews or school applications, but the majority of what they gave readers advice about was giving toasts, which is not what I wanted. I did like the excerpts from Moth events.

Cinfhen Nice review but don‘t think this is for me 2y
Megabooks @Cinfhen thanks and probably not. 2y

I thought this was a very helpful and insightful book. I have not read any of the author before this one but plan to read more of his work. The concept of the book isn‘t earth shattering but he does a great job of explaining everything well and helping the reader begin applying and growing into what he describes. I learned a lot and will apply what I have learned.

ARC 📚 I‘m about 17% into this book and highly enjoying it! The author is providing interesting stories to highlight her points and clear takeaways for self-improvement. It‘s easy to read, but also worthwhile. #bringinguptheboss #netgalley #selfdevelopment #managerdevelopment #businessbook

I loved all the practices of this book! I have learned so much about the importance of putting myself first. I deserve it! Also, plan on going back each month to read and practice these skills more thoroughly. This is definitely gonna be a workbook that I will use in conjunction with my journal.

I didn't finish my SpringTBR list this season... but I did finish 4, DNF 1 and am in the middle of the last one (tagged book). This book, initially I thought I would read through it quickly then go back and try to practice some of the suggestions, but.. I think I am gonna (although probably read it through then go back) won't be doing that as quickly as originally planned.

Really enjoying these lessons! Thank you again @AlwaysBeenALoverofBooks

Moonprismpower What was the reason for the dnf on extreme self care? Do you listen to the By the Book podcast? 🙂 3y
ElizaMarie @Moonprismpower no no no I DNF'd Penpal. I am still reading Extreme Self Care. I really am enjoying it and spending some time journaling through it (I am not usually a journal-writer but ... I am really using the book to grow)

I have listened to By the Book in the past. I have kinda fallen away from a lot of my podcasts because I listen to audiobooks more for my commute.
