Thank you @Squidget for hosting.
#ShutdownReadathon #Round2
I finished 6 books in Round 2 of the #ShutdownReadathon. Conveniently, the end of this event also coincides with the end of the shutdown in my part of Ontario. We're moving out of shutdown into “red“ status, so things are still far from normal but a little less restrictive than they've been.
Thanks, @Squidget, for hosting and making the shutdown less onerous!
Had a very slumpy February, which means it took me two weeks to read the same number of books I read in the first week of #ShutdownReadathon Round 2 😶
A re-read from my university days. An inventive concept and powerful storytelling about the war. Also I‘ve been getting the planet‘s name wrong for years: I‘ve been calling it Tralfalmadore (two L‘s in there) instead of Tralfamadore.
#ShutdownReadathon round 2 book 10
Set during the Berlin airlift, this was a solid thriller with lots of nerdy plane stuff, which is what I was expecting.
#ShutdownReadathon round 2 book 9
A retelling of Aladdin with Jasmin and Jafar but characters roles were inverted. I thought this would be a dark romance but this is an erotica novel with sex all the time in a dark, toxic, unhealthy way with not much plot/action. The author warned about “depictions of consensual non-consent sex”. It is very graphic. If you liked 50 Shades of Gray you maybe like this one. For me was so-so to Pan.
