The end of #SweetValleyJrHigh! The Wakefield family is headed to Utah & the kids are all devastated. Jessica can‘t bear to tell Damon, & when he finds out from overhearing Liz & Blue, he‘s very upset! Their friends decide to throw a going away party but Sal knows he can‘t keep a secret, so he avoids Liz just as their romance is blooming! Both twins feel lonely until the party, where everyone makes up & Ned gives them the good news they‘re staying!

TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I may actually be more excited to re-read the SVU books… I really loved them as a kid— well I am having fun so far with the SVH ones (I am a little behind on posting… ) and I forgot that Steven went to “State U” before Sweet Valley University existed, hahahaha! 5d

JenlovesJT47 Lol I forgot about that. It‘s in the original copy of Double Love but I have that and the reprint that‘s updated and I think I read the reprint when I did my reread. I also feel like early Steven in SVH is SO boring and his personality doesn‘t match up with the way it is in SVT. Early SVH Steven reminds me of a 30 year old guy who heads up a young republicans group or something 😅 5d

JenlovesJT47 He‘s pretty boring up until he starts dating Cara. He‘s not great then either but imo he the best once we hit the books in the number 90s. He‘s the absolute best big brother in The Evil Twin, but I might be biased lol since that‘s my favorite. Still can‘t forgive Francine for retconning him to be gay, it makes absolutely no sense with his character. There were other more established characters that would have made more sense to go that direction⬇️ 5d

TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I know!! I am not looking forward to re-reading Sweet Valley Confidential! But I do remember enjoying the Sweet Life book after that… but they really did Steven wrong! And didn‘t they kill off Winston?? Anyways, I am going to have a hard time not reading more than one of these a day or so! I‘m having so much fun!! 5d

JenlovesJT47 They are so fun! And yes, they did kill off Winston 🤬 I hated SV Confidential but i unashamedly love the Sweet Life, it is hysterical 😅 and so fun! 5d

JenlovesJT47 Oh I forgot you haven‘t read Senior Year!! I think you will love them, especially the first 12 books or so. They are more realistic and follow a linear timeline, AND they actually graduate in one year instead of 25 😅 5d

I did read the first few, I think originally— but I didn‘t make it very far into them… I remember they had little journal entries? I am still trying to get my hands on 45-Tia In The Middle, but I have the rest of them now! These junior high books were completely new to me— overall I liked them, but I wanted them to be more focused on the twins rather than the all new characters… 5d

JenlovesJT47 Yeah they do focus on the new characters a lot in senior year, too, but I liked them and Liz and Jess are front and center. They both improve, Liz coming down to earth and not being so self righteous, and Jess realizing how shallow she is and changing her ways. Plus I love Liz‘s love interest, Connor. The model on the cover is so hot and matches his personality imo. I like Liz so much more in these books. Hope you can find 45! At least it‘s on AA 5d

TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 Yes, Saint Elizabeth can be a bit much! My husband is named Connor, so that will add to the fun of those, too!! And I have no idea why it‘s hard to find… but I am glad it‘s been added to the archive since I last looked! I should check and see if my missing Unicorn Club book has been added! In Love With Mandy is also rare for no apparent reason! 🤷‍♀️ 4d

JenlovesJT47 That‘s great! I went back a few months to see if they had added anything new and they added 3 new ones, so that‘s good that they‘re still adding them. I think I‘m only missing 3 from SY. 4d

TorieStorieS @JenlovesJT47 I know! I‘m glad they‘re adding them, as I feel like the used bookstores around me seem to have fewer and fewer of them on the shelves! But if you let me know which titles you need, I can keep an eye out! 4d

JenlovesJT47 Ok I‘m going to make a list this week of the ones I‘m missing and I‘ll let you know! Only missing 3 SVT books as well. Queen Janet and a couple of the last super editions. 4d

The first #SweetValleyTwins book! Now in 6th grade, I remember this series a lot better than the #SVK one, so I am even more excited for this part of my #SweetValleyReRead project! Somehow, Steven isn‘t only two grades ahead but is a high school freshman! In this first one, Liz struggles with finding her independence from Jessica, leading her to start the Sixers, a newspaper while Jess joins the prestigious Unicorn Club for the prettiest girls!

TorieStorieS @dabbe I just saw that— 92 is a long life where she impacted many readers! In my grad program for library school, one of our guest lecturers discussed how often these books are still used for teaching English as a second language because the reading level and the cultural references. I doubt that it‘s true anymore considering these are getting harder to find, but I have always loved the whole series! 13mo
