“The Lady from the Black Lagoon” by Mallory O‘Meara was so interesting and witty, I just had to keep reading. I personally love O‘Meara‘s voice in her books; you honestly feel like you‘re reading a Podcast transcript, she‘s got jokes, she‘s got facts, and she‘s got observations. She‘s one of my go-to nonfiction writers and I‘m so excited for her new book coming out in January 🙌

#TopReads2024 continues with my September pick
??????????????
“The World of Tomorrow” was such a great read! I honestly enjoyed all the books I read this month, but this was one I went into with zero expectations and I loved it!! I bought it for 50¢ at a library‘s book sale and halfway through I realized I would‘ve gladly paid full price for it and still would love it. Highly recommend!!

“Murder at the White Palace” is book 6 in the ‘Sparks & Bainbridge‘ series and it‘s another fun and delightful read. I love the witty dialogue between Iris and Gwen, but it doesn‘t stop with them, all the characters bring so much to the table that you won‘t get bored reading it. I‘m impatiently waiting for Book 7 (and 8 and 9 and 10 and 😁🤞🤞🤞🤞)

I absolutely loved Margo! I laughed out loud and even teared up a few times! It was easily my favorite book of July with The Measure coming in 2nd! However, it‘s going to have to be something beyond fabulous to beat All the Sinners Bleed 🩸

BkClubCare Whew. I wonder where my mother will fall on the love-hate scale this book is getting 😬 4mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @BkClubCare did she like it or hate it?! 4mo
BkClubCare @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks - hard to tell. She said it was well-written but that she is too much of a prude. 😳🤪😬😂 4mo

Fellowship Point: A Novel | Alice Elliott Dark

#TopReads2024 continues with my July pick
👵🏼👵🏼⛵️🌲🌳☀️ “Fellowship Point” is one of those books that have stuck with me and I still think of it fondly. The characters were so vivid and lifelike that I thinks that‘s why, they felt like genuine friends. Plus, the setting reminded me so much of my summer trips to northern Wisconsin growing up, so there‘s that too 🥰 Definitely a great summertime read!

👵🏼🧓🏻👶🏼🧶🍷🍰 “How to Age Disgracefully” was such a fun read! I loved it from page 1, the writing reminded me a lot of Richard Osman and other English writers, the dry humor level was top-notch and was just right. It was one I borrowed from the library but I‘m seriously considering buying a copy for my own collection just because it was so good.

CBee How do you get the bookshelf image on PicCollage? I can‘t find it anywhere 😳 6mo
Aims42 @CBee Try searching “Empty Bookshelf Image”. I just tried that and it came up on my app 🤞 6mo
CBee @Aims42 I ended up finding an empty bookshelf image on Google and making it the background 😊 6mo

#TopReads2024 continues with my April pick
🐓🐟🇮🇪🚢🇺🇸🌆 “The Walking People” was a breath taking and mesmerizing read that totally took you for a ride with the Cahill family. My only complaint was that I wished it was longer, I didn‘t want to leave them. I hope maybe one day Mary Beth Keane will revisit them!!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate today! 🐣🐰✝️💐 I wanted to post this before going to my in-laws for lunch 😊

#TopReads2024 continues with my March pick🍹🥃🚺🤘 “Girly Drinks” was a fascinating read and I learned SO much! I loved O‘Meara‘s writing style, I read several paragraphs out loud to my husband either because they were interesting or because it was funny. I will definitely check out her other books 👏👏👏
