Recently found this hidden gem - a waterfall in one of the local parks in Raleigh! It used to be a working mill and it‘s now a cute little spot to take in some natural beauty.

This book could be really good lesson in the beginning of the year to help students learn the importance of making new friends and keeping friends.

I love this book it is one of my favorites and I have it at home on my book shelve. I love the story and the animals as characters. I enjoy the message of friendship and the theme it portrays.

Caldecott

My partner and I are going to drive from southern Ontario to Nova Scotia (c/ our 15m old, heaven help us! Haha) and we need audio-tainment! 🤣 He's more a nonfic guy, I'm less into that unless it's intriguing to me, which often means crime genre, or maybe some good supernatural haunting, myths, legends of certain areas. The only thing with history I don't want to listen to would be about WWI & WWII.

Any suggestions for books or podcasts?

“Until the river..“ This is the last line and encapsulates that everything in the book and story was needed to make the whole, just like a classroom.

I really like this book because it can represent a classroom community which will always be a big part of my goals. It relays the message that everyone is different and brings a different skill or mindset that helps build everyone and everything up.

Bear Came Along, Richard T. Morris, 2019. We meet all sorts of different kinds of animals and their personalities. They all didn't realize they would have anything in common but they ended up getting along great!

5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 This Caldacott honor book deserves all the praise it has received. We start with a river. Then the bear comes along. Then the Frog, and so on, and so on. Each animal/s helping the other and learning to lean when needed. The Illustrations are amazing. They propel the story and rev the excitement for the big finish. It all blends together beautifully.

The photo is of one of the waterfalls my son & I hiked to experience- we are exploring waterfalls in CT. Despite the fact that Niagara Falls is obviously far grander & majestic than the falls we visit, Lucy‘s sentiment spoke to me. #overbookedclub #waterfalls
