Fun book in which two girls start reading a shoujo manga together to get close, and start revealing themselves to each other, fall in love, etc. It's really cute.

Aaand I decided to do do another #ComicsBingo card since I said it'd be until the end of December, and I need to read some extra books to catch up with my reading goal! The illustrator of this book is Brazilian.

shanaqui If anyone wants to join in on #ComicsBingo and didn't see it before, initial post with the blank graphic and StoryGraph challenge link here: https://www.litsy.com/web/post/2911726 1w

I kept putting off this book because it was chonky looking and I didn't want chonky. It's actually very accessible and quick to read. There's lots of white space, big text, and different formatting.

I was recommended this book because I was looking for practical tips and guidance. This book offers that but more importantly it includes the why, which is something a lot of books miss out.

PuddleJumper Explaining why something might work means I am more likely to try it. Telling me to go for a walk will not work. Explaining why going for a walk might help my brain reset, give me a break, and maybe some dopamine means I'm more likely to try it.

There was a good balance between anecdotal, factual and practical. I would definitely recommend it as a starting point.

BookishMarginalia Weighted plushie! 2w
PuddleJumper @BookishMarginalia 😅 It's a new thing in trying. I think I need something a bit heavier 2w
BookishMarginalia I have 4 weighted plushies right now, for the different textures. A sloth from Bearaby (woven texture), one furry Highland Cow from Snuggle Pals, and a super soft squishy Parrot and baby parrot from Pillowfort at Target. The Target kids decor section is the only place I have found weighted plushies in real life. 2w
PuddleJumper @BookishMarginalia I'm in the UK and you can get them in kids shops here. Heaviest I've seen is 3kg. I wanted a Hug-a-Lump because they come in different weights but I didn't like the texture.

The cat is a store brand one, it's so soft. I picked it up and just carried it around rubbing it's ear so it may work more as a comfort one.

I really like the texture and squish of the kenji toys. I use them to cuddle and rest my arms on when sitting

BookishMarginalia Just looked up the Kenji toys — they are so cute! 2w

Through mostly fiction short stories, different authors evoke rurality, mainly growing up in a small town or in the countryside.
I love discovering new voices, and this collection does a great job when it comes to diversity.
At the end, each contributor wrote about their own experiences growing up in small towns. The only thing I would have added is their age, some stories are harder to date than others (relevant for seeing how things change)

Anna40 Sounds great! Love your review 3w

This book works well for lessons on kindness, empathy, and community. You can use it to start conversations about being a good friend, showing care, and creating a safe classroom environment. It also supports social emotional learning in a simple and accessible way.

Hello, Neighbor! is a warm and gentle tribute to Mister Rogers. Matthew Cordell captures the quiet kindness and calm spirit that made Fred Rogers so beloved. The illustrations feel soft and inviting, and the story reminds readers that small acts of care can make a big difference.

If you're interested in the subject matter, watch the author's TED talk instead. She offers nothing of particular value in either platform, but at least the TED talk will save you a lot of time. #2025Book50

“If we can actively love, there will be no attention deficit and no disorder”. What an awesome book. Helped me a lot in understanding myself
