Couldn‘t finish this. I‘m sure it‘s a wonderful story, but I couldn‘t stomach the creepy guy who repeatedly harassed the main character for a date. Eventually he blackmailed her & threatened to turn her in to the police (for a crime he knew she didn‘t commit) if she wouldn‘t say yes to him. Books with characters like that aren‘t for me.

AmyG @TheBookHippie I am on the cusp of bailing on a book….so I needed this. 2mo
TheBookHippie @AmyG I donated all my #allhailthebail books and TBR I‘m never going to read to the woman‘s shelter .. they were ecstatic! Newer published books and not romance 😂🙃♥️. 2mo

AnnCrystal It is necessary, we don't want to make reading feel like a chore...reading needs to be either informative or like little vacations, especially these days 📚💝. 2mo
Leftcoastzen I‘m more that way now too! I think the more we read the more we have a sense of what we will like/not like regardless if a book is highly praised or not. I am painfully aware I don‘t have infinite years to read , so , not working for me ? #hailthebail 2mo
kspenmoll I have never had a problem bailing from a book- not enough time to read something I don‘t like - I do give it a few chapters- then done! 2mo

Bailedbailed

I wanted to love this, and it started out SO strong! Normally the issue I find with audiobooks is I like the story but not the voices—this was the opposite! I am in AWE of the talented voice actors but the story has really fizzled out for me, and/or doesn‘t have a clear plot. Maybe a problem of too many shifting perspectives? #allhailthebail

Bailedbailed

It's a bail but I'm not mad at it. I think it is a very well executed cross between Bridget Jones Diary and Dexter. If you are in the mood for graphically violent female rage then I would defo try it. Lots of respect for Skuse as a writer.

But you know I recently unsubbed from Netflix because I felt it was funnelling serial killer content into my head. And this is a bit murderporny, just enough to cross a personal line.

Bailedbailed

Bailed at 50 pages. Super creepy striking idea but the writing style is not for me and a quick look at reviews for the rest of the trilogy looks like the resolution is patchy.

Bail at 30%
I really liked this author‘s Undead & Unwed series so I was excited to read this but there‘s too much going on. Were-bear detective/social workers trying to stop trafficking of were-kids. The FMC‘s dialogue & internal narration was chaotic, & very bubbly for the surrounding plot. The love interests have made no moves towards eachother yet, & I don‘t care if they do which doesn‘t bode well for the rest of the book. #bye
