Exit West: A NovelReggie @batsy did you read Exit West? I feel he has a pulse on how America is viewed by the rest of the world and I don‘t think it is undeserved. Even in Exit West when he mentions how the refugees would see tv for the first time and wonder how people could have gameshows where food is wasted. I also have felt this way watching some of the Food Network. Anyways, I hope you like The Reluctant Fundamentalist. He deceptively packs a lot in a short book. 6y

batsy I haven't, but I think I should. I've flipped through his books in the store and wasn't moved to get them, but now seeing quotes and reviews and your comment... I'm thinking at the very least, I need to give Exit West a try. I like your description of his political engagement in fiction. 6y

Centique @Reggie oh I LOVED Monsoon Wedding. 😍😍😍I am almost as much a movie lover as a book lover but lately haven‘t gone to as many arty or foreign films as I used to. #becausekids I need to go find Monsoon Wedding and watch it again. 6y
Reggie @Centique I was not meant to own the movie. I loaned it to a friend who loaned it to a friend who moves out of state. That original friend gave it to me for X-mas that year as an apology. Lol. And then the next month I loaned it to a coworker who gets fired the next day and moved without ever giving it back. Boo. Have you ever watched any Pedro Almodovar Spanish movies? Those are also great. 6y
