I really enjoyed this novel which was a multi layered story of india pre independence focussing on a notorious massacre by British forces. Pakistani born the author is adept at crafting a work of historical fiction and this thread reminds to read her other works.
Shirin Enadi is a human rights activist from Tehran. She was the first Iranian woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, and this is her memoir. It is a beautiful story of her faith, her family, her desire for a quiet traditional life, and her intense love for her country, which makes the disappointment in aspects of the government so much more acute. #booksbymuslimwomen #readingwomenmonth #resistance #junetunz
