I need something to listen to at work. So I am starting this one now. ❤️🎧📕

I didn‘t get to do a huge amount of outdoor sit-n-read earlier because it was kinda cold, with impending rain. (Three cheers for my superlight umbrella!) I did start another Jackie Lau novella in front of this ruin, though! The wall was part of a 16th century townhouse that was destroyed in the 1940 bombings. Behind me, a post-war building has incorporated the townhouse‘s chapel, which looks mostly intact.
Soft pick. The second romance by Megan Clawson was a bit underwhelming. I didn‘t like the main characters at first and it was a bit slow. But then it picked up and there was character growth even if a bit choppy. I enjoyed the second half of the book a bit more.
Today I walked 16.75 km around Versailles, with occasional stops to read bits of THE SITCOM STAR. It‘s cute, and I continue to loooooove how Jackie Lau doesn‘t Americanize her work in the slightest. Y‘all will appreciate that my tolerance for Americanization is currently at an all-time low, which is saying something.
My sandwich was great, too. Honestly, the bread from my cheap grocery store is better, but the filling was SO TASTY.
After being gone for a week for my conference, so happy to finish my book, cuddled up with my dogs. I really enjoyed this romance about a couple, together since they were teens, finding their way back to each other. It explores tough themes like grief and loss, but really gets the balance right. Really enjoying this author!
I‘m out of town and an ice storm hit and knocked out the power where I‘m staying since Saturday night. So I‘m currently ‘living‘ at the local Indigo, which has power. I may be spending too much and cleaning up my Wishlist 🤣
The high rating could be related to Jacob Morgan narrating but still a fun story
