I‘ve been drawing more Universal Monsters this weekend and it occurred to me that many of them have literary origins...except for the creature from the black lagoon? Anyone know of a classic book featuring this fella??

My pick for #SwampThing is one of my favourite X-Men characters, Rogue! She can absorb and use the power from anyone she touches. So in a way she can fit the #SwampThing prompt or #CreaturefromtheBlackLagoon.

So not exactly a #creaturefromtheblacklagoon, but more a creature from the Thames river. Kirsten moves into an old hydropathy sanitorium next to the Thames. She starts to see a lonely figure at the river bank, and this lonely figure wants something from Kirsten. This novel is hauntingly creepy, and definitely made me give my nearest river the side eye once or twice 👀👀
