This book was a quick read. I also feel that this book was a bit predictable, but I fully enjoyed it. #classichorror #librarybook #ebook #audiobook

EvieBee Is he classified as classic horror? 2y

Always wanted to read this book. Felt like he took too long getting to the good parts. But that‘s probably just because books were different back then.

Had some free time at work and read this one really quickly. Thought it was great so I‘m going to read his short story collection next.

Palimpsest I love M.R. James stories 3y
SkeletonKey @Palimpsest - I was definitely impressed, this was my first by him. 3y

The Haunting of Hill House | Shirley Jackson

Started the #audiobook for haunting of hill house for #halfbloodbingo with @jmtrivera and friends for the category a book that's been adapted for the screen. I loved the Netflix series so I wanted to read the source material. Interesting so far, but I must confess at this point in my reading, I liked the show better. Thoughts? #amreadinghorror #shirleyjackson #classichorror

Good morning 🖤🌻

Last night I finished The Pursuit Of Love and started my reread of Dracula. The skies opened up, rain, howling wind, it was the perfect atmosphere for a reread so I was thrilled. Today is a lazy Sunday so I‘m going to drink coffee and sit in the window and read. I‘m craving cinnamon rolls but I intend to stay in Transylvania for a while whilst the little one paints. #bookaddict #classics #classichorror

JazzFeathers Haven't read Deacula yet, but always meant to. Thought Stoker may be an author that l really like or that l really don't like. Happened both in the past. 6y
TheNeverendingTBR I havd this, still to read it though. Nice post! ☺ 6y
Quirkybookworm I like the bookmark there! It‘s beautiful! 6y

{#currentlyreading — Interview with the Vampire} 🧛🏼‍♂️🖤

One of my most favourite books and films (I say this a lot, I have so many favourites!) I‘ve read this book so many times. It was a companion to me for most of my late teens and it‘s a book I always love to revisit. Have you read it? #annerice #vampirechronicles #bibliophile #bookaddict #booklover #bookish #bookworm #bookblogger #bookstagram #classichorror

RJHowe A classic. And Ms Rice is such a cool lady. 👍🏻 6y
Quirkybookworm One of the classics! 6y
Sophoclessweetheart @RJHowe Thank you, Yes she is. 6y

JazzFeathers I've never read it. Though l saw the film back then and liked it. I've always heard that Anne Rice is that kind of author that you either love or hate, no in-between, and this has always kind of halted me 6y
Sophoclessweetheart @JazzFeathers I don‘t know about that honestly, Sarah. I‘ve never known anyone to not love her books. But I might just have only met people with similar taste to myself? 🤷🏼‍♀️😹 I love her books. She‘s like in my top three favourite authors. You should give her a try, or at least this book — especially if you liked the film. It‘s much better and the film is amazing! X 6y

I‘ve been drawing more Universal Monsters this weekend and it occurred to me that many of them have literary origins...except for the creature from the black lagoon? Anyone know of a classic book featuring this fella??

#horror #classichorror #creaturefromtheblacklagoon #universalhorror

ohyeahthatgirl Gollum is the closest I can think of. 6y
SkeletonKey @ohyeahthatgirl - Gollum from The Hobbit? 6y
ohyeahthatgirl Yeah, not super close, but he loved his underground lake. 6y
SkeletonKey @ohyeahthatgirl - True! I was just looking up release dates and it‘s so weird to me that Creature was released nearly 20 years after The Hobbit was published lol. 6y
