panSaifedean Ammous is Professor of Economics at the Lebanese American University. This book has useful summaries of the history of money and the development of Bitcoin but his arguments as to how Bitcoin meets the definition of money are unconvincing - no matter how many times he repeats his points - and his Austrian school economic arguments about Bitcoin‘s superiority for settlement smacks of wishful thinking over the real world practicalities.
pickThe historical parts were interesting and fun to try out (despite some typos) but the more modern (though since the book came out in 2002, not that modern) sections were more difficult to follow and could have done with more examples taken from real life to demonstrate how the theory is used.
pickA skeptics look into the world of Crypto. An informative read. I‘m a bit of a skeptic myself when it comes to “unregulated securities”, which is what Crypto is to a degree. Betting on enthusiasm is what it is in reality. Acknowledging those who have made money from Crypto and lost. It‘s very much open to fraud. 4/5 on Goodreads.com
