repost for @AnishaInkspill

I've set this challenge on Storygraph. I came up with Long Reads Workout 2026 to read books that are long and intimidating but want to read.

I'm starting with Hannibal Rising at 350+ pages and working all the way to Hilary Mantel's A Place of Greater Safety, that is 600+ pages. If you're interested in this this challenge on Storygraph I put the link below.

Or tag me, @AnishaInkspill, here with #3BookChallenge2026.

AnishaInkspill Thanks for reposting. 3d

aa_guer2021 Oooh! I have to think about this! 3w
Born.A.Reader I had such good intentions with this challenge last year (this year). Hoping to do better this year as I certainly have enough options on my own TBR shelves! 3w

This was recommended by my therapist and it‘s helpful for confronting and experiencing emotions.

After the disgusting, multipronged assault on LGBT lives by the tangerine terror's cronies this morning, I spent my lunch break in a nearby park where the library has a story walk. This was a cute picture book about emotions, and, bonus, there was no orange in it 😉 😩

AnnCrystal I couldn't believe that they would really take away a suicide hotline 😢🙏🏼... 6mo

Beautiful book. Gorgeous illustrations. Ed is in a bad mood and just keeps sweeping with his anger. The pile keeps getting bigger and bigger. Will Ed ever stop sweeping? Hm... I guess you need to read it to find out! Just a sweet story.

With family in town and so much going on, I missed last week, but here are my joys for this week‘s #5JoysFriday.

🎂My grand-niece dancing on the table at the end of her first birthday party
📚That same sweet girl enjoying her book gifts at the park
🥐A croissant sticking out its strawberry tongue at the wall of the display case
🙏🏼Seeing a former student interviewed on the news as he was providing support and aid to wildfire victims (link ⤵️)

BarbaraJean I was watching the news and said: “That‘s my student!!” Had to pause it for my husband to see and then later tracked down the clip! https://www.facebook.com/dan.cortese.79/videos/3852420878407376/
💜I had a realization of how absolutely beautiful people are, thinking about the massive outpouring of wildfire assistance + two beautiful spiritual direction sessions I had this week

4 ⭐I might need to keep this one a little longer for my niece. Who‘s really gotten into dinosaur and also has a tendency to get very emotional very quickly. This would be entertaining at a story time. The book rhymes well, it has a nice cadenc,e and the illustrations are bright and colorful. Altogether, this is a great book that I could see being at storytime for the next 20+ years.

Great for younger students trying to balance their emotions.
