This is my last week before returning to work next mo day, 8/23. Want to do all things summer this week!
Struggled to get into this one and found certain parts of it to be a little slow. I'm glad I stuck with it though because by the end I was really interested in what was going to happen. I do feel like the ending was rushed. Most of the book was long and didn't seem overly important. More time was spent on that than on the ending and important scenes. It was still a good read and I will check out other books from this author.
My sixth 5⭐️ read for 2020 was by an author that I just discovered last year whose books are set in the U.S. South. Heartwarming and inspirational.

I am wondering how many books I‘ve chosen for the cover? I suspect a few. This one for sure. The porch and the swing! This was a warm, uncomplicated read. Easy. 3/5 @TheAromaofBooks
Just finished this book and I‘m feeling all sorts of things. I‘m so glad I decided to read this book about a woman building a life for herself after her husband leaves her, and all of the people she meets along the way. This one made my heart feel good!
#JamminJune There‘s a very romantic #slowdance is this book.
This is my 4th book from this author & I love the vibrant southern small town settings, quirky characters, & the stories about second chances & finding your place in the world that she spins. Light & engaging & always filled with tasty food. In this one Lily‘s husband leaves her in Alabama with a note & divorce papers & she finds herself working as a hair stylist in the retirement ⬇️

Today I‘m grateful for Saturdays & no work-work. It was a short week because of Monday‘s holiday but it felt long! I‘ve run my errands, stopped at Starbucks to pick up the Iced Pineapple Matcha I ordered online,😋put a casserole in to cook for a blog post & I‘m settling in to start this one. (I had to superimpose the cover on my Kindle because my #ARC doesn‘t have one & her covers are so gorgeous.)😉
This author has such a way with bringing her characters to life. This is my second book from her, and that is a main takeaway from both. I can let a lot of things slide in a book...a plot that‘s mediocre, pacing that‘s off a bit...but if a book doesn‘t contain characters that I can visualize, walk beside or become invested in, it just won‘t work for me. This book is about two women in different phases of their lives. Lily is a 28 yo whose 🔻
