Thanks to #netgalley and #thomasnelson for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. Omg this book was just perfection for me. Heartwarming, funny, with some poignant touching moments, and very loveable characters. Once I started reading it was hard to put this one down, it was one of those books, you never want to end. I loved the character development Isadora goes through. This was a hug in a book, a perfect feel good read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

robinb I LOVED this one as well! Sooo good! 😍 8mo

This author has such a way with bringing her characters to life. This is my second book from her, and that is a main takeaway from both. I can let a lot of things slide in a book...a plot that‘s mediocre, pacing that‘s off a bit...but if a book doesn‘t contain characters that I can visualize, walk beside or become invested in, it just won‘t work for me. This book is about two women in different phases of their lives. Lily is a 28 yo whose 🔻

robinb husband of 18 months leaves her with a note and divorce papers. In her search for a soft place to land and regroup, she meets Rose, the gruff 68 yo co-owner/manager of the Safe Harbor Retirement Village along the Alabama coast who takes a chance on her and gives her a job as a beautician. There are a cast of seniors, as well as Rose‘s nephew and great niece to fall in love with here...and I did, head over heels. 🔻 (edited) 4y
robinb But at its core, it‘s a story of two women, their struggles, their losses (both of loved ones and of their own dreams) and their self-discoveries and forgiveness of their flaws so that they can move forward with their lives. Beautifully written and highly recommended. All the stars. 5/5⭐️

Up next is my second book by an author (a fellow Alabamian) that I discovered with last year‘s “Glory Road” (a 5⭐️ read for me). I am looking forward to seeing if this one gives me all the feels that “Glory Road” did. 😊🤞

My first by this author, it was a bit confusing in the beginning. It‘s a story written in first-person revolving around the life (past and present) of a priest/government agent/best-selling fiction writer. Murph has dedicated his life to finding lost souls, more specifically those taken in human sex trafficking while also struggling with his own personal loss. While it contains some exquisite prose, it can also get a bit convoluted, switching ⬇️⬇️

robinb between real-life and his fictional character‘s. There‘s also quite a lot of descriptive passages involving Florida‘s waterways, boat jargon, etc. that at times straddled the line between interesting and tedious. But while this action adventure/romance had its moments of unbelievable feats/plot points and depicted the two female leads as needy through much of the book, ⬇️ 4y
robinb overall I found myself liking and rooting for Murphy to beat the bad guys and reach some peace within himself.

This is the first of a series, and I‘m intrigued to see where it leads. I can honestly say it‘s unlike anything I‘ve ever read before. 4/5⭐️

I really enjoyed this sweet Christian romance because it wasn‘t just “fluff” but featured 3D characters who were flawed and afraid but grew and learned to trust as the story progressed. I also loved the imagery (from an Australian author) of the workings of a dairy farm in the Outback. This is really TWO love stories, both fleshed out nicely...Kim and Sam and Jules (Sam‘s sister) and Mick. Loved the humor as well. 4/5⭐️ #NetGalley #ThomasNelson

Up next, a “sweet Regency romance” by an author that I‘ve read and enjoyed in the past. 😊

I enjoyed this sweet, heartwarming first book in series centering around a trio of siblings who tragically lose both parents and step up to open an inn in NC that was their parent‘s dream. This is Molly‘s love story but also includes a second love story dating back to 1962. As Molly and Adam work together to locate the intended recipient of a lost letter discovered at the inn (previously post office), they slowly begin to lower their defenses ⬇️

robinb and learn to trust and love again. Would definitely read the next in series. 4/5⭐️ #ThomasNelson #NetGalley 4y
TheAromaofBooks For some unknown reason, I have a weakness for stories about people who own inns/hotels/etc. Also love stories about siblings working together so... this might be my jam! :-D 4y
robinb @TheAromaofBooks I know what you mean! LOL There‘s a lot more to the story than I mentioned, and it has an especially heartwarming wrap up. 😊 Let me know what you think if you try it! Just came out last month. 4y
