Ending the series with a bang, Oak Avenue is the first book out of the Dark Corners collection to actually give me chills. Eerie and full of supernatural tension. 5 stars!

Wait, what?! Whoa, that was effed up! I don't understand how this story has gotten such low reviews. It was very strange; I'll give you that. But, there was just something about it and that ending... Dang!

Meh. Can't say I enjoyed this installment. Kinda dark and a couple of poignant moments, but I didn't really feel entertained by this one.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I like Joyce Carol Oates and was excited to see that she had penned this installment of the Dark Corners series. It was a bit of a slow burn, but worth sticking out. Solid storyline and intriguing ending.

Book 4 in this series..

3.5 - 4 stars
I don't quite know what to think of this short story. I enjoyed the nod to Harry Potter & did chuckle out loud a couple of times; however, overall I think I mostly just found the story to be weird. Not scary, creepy, but weird. That said, I feel like a 3.5 is too low & a 4 may be too high; so what do I know? Ha! Guess you need to read it yourself to find out.
