They did?
This is starting to sound less “progressive” and more conservative. 🤨

We are? So not wanting to live in a fascist state means being an anarchist “lots” of the time? 🤨 And being over racism is also anarchist? 🤨

marleed You are a trooper sticking with this one! 2d
GingerAntics @marleed I listened to a good portion of it on 3x speed… and I skimmed (as much as you can with an audiobook) the last handful of chapters. 2d

Happy Black History month. For the people in the back, Happy Black History month. I will be celebrating ALL month. Just like AAPI, Women, Native American, Pride, Disability, and any other marginalized group!!! Check out black authors, biographies, fiction, graphic novels, critical race theory, or cookbooks. Don‘t forget to keep reading banned books!!!! #blm #readbannedbooks #black365 #resist

My plan of action is to vote. I'm privileged to live in a state where I can sit down at home with my ballot and voter's pamphlet. I can take as much time as I need to make informed decisions. We can liberate libraries and librarians in states where books are being banned. Children are not free if they can't see themselves in what they read. #ala #freedomtoread #dayofaction #americanlibraryassociation #vote #blm #lgbtq+ #transrights saves lives.

Mehso-so

I am between So-so and pan on this. I just do not understand the hype and rave reviews. This really didn't work for me. 1 petty complaint- Lavender, Saffron, Juniper, Rose, then move on to Sunshine, Blue, & Harmony. The names Kukafka picked for this was insanely distracting. I can't get past it and I hated it.
1 big yuck I didn't like how the author tried to tag in how Black and Brown people have it worst in the prison system, when she put this👇

ChaoticMissAdventures Thought in it felt like a total after thought, something she came in later and added to make sure we knew she was reading #BLM posts. It felt very contrived. I am going with So-so because I did enjoy the first third of it but by the end I just didn't care at all about anyone in the book. 7mo

This title pretty much sums up this perfectly! I‘ve read Phoebe‘s second book but still need to read her first. I don‘t remember heavy topics in her other (tagged) but this one covered 2020 and you know what that means — pandemic and #BLM movement. But still lots to laugh about here. She always delivers and I lovvvvee her tangents, abbreviations, and hashtags. Excellent narration for the #audiobook.

ChaoticMissAdventures I don't remember which book it was in but her obsession with Bono cracks me up!! She is hilarious and her audios are perfect - laughing out loud in public with them perfect 😂 3y
Megabooks She‘s a funny lady for sure! 3y

Raw, searing, and important. Great show of emotions. I picture the actress, Marsha Stephanie Blake as the mom. What can be said that hasn‘t been said before? There is no room for racism, intolerance, and injustice towards people of colour. We can do better, we must do better. #BLM

The storyline felt very real. It depicted the racism and injustice black people face every day in a very nuanced way. It did a fantastic job highlighting the internal struggle of deciding whether or not to speak out. Taking a stand, or in this case, kneeling, has both positive and negative consequences, and this book dove right into the complexity of it all.
