This is true...ish. I know, here in Texas (and other parts of the Bible Belt), a literally view of this story still exists. There are otherwise intelligent people who genuinely believe the world is only 4,000 years old “because the bible says it‘s so.” 🤦🏼♀️

julesG 🙈 I'll adopt you. 6y
VioletBramble When my niece was young I went to the Museum of Natural History with her and some friends. There was a little boy who desperately wanted to see the dinosaur fossils. His mother dragged him away, saying" No, we don't believe in them. They're not in the Bible". I don't understand how people can deny what's right in front of them. 6y

Graywacke I sympathize with your tx experience. I have had the experiences. Otherwise nice and normal neighbors are creationist - two immediate neighbors. I still can‘t process and I‘ve been there a while now. Texas... 6y
GingerAntics @julesG THANKS!!! You‘re so sane!!! 6y
GingerAntics @VioletBramble @Freespirit a had a friend who homeschooled her kids because public school was too secular. They had an Uber Christian curriculum, and world history started with Adam and Eve. I witnessed her giving the kids a quiz, and one of the questions was “on what day of creation were the dinosaurs created.” No lie. It was thought out at least. It was two different days because some could fly. 🙄 6y
GingerAntics @Graywacke I don‘t remember this ever being a thing back in Minnesota. My grandmother was adamant that evolution wasn‘t real, but there was never this idea that science just didn‘t exist like it is here in TX. I just don‘t get it. 6y
Weaponxgirl @VioletBramble poor little guy, I hope he grows up to be a palaeontologist 6y
GingerAntics @Weaponxgirl @VioletBramble I bet he‘ll be the best palaeontologist. 🤞🏻 Here‘s hoping for that little guy. 6y
