Number 10 in the series begins with an Indian woman being murdered. Maisie is on the case while trying to make some big decisions about what to do next in her own life. This is definitely a transition book and it moves the story forward wonderfully. I loved learning more about the woman who was murdered and her strong, vibrant personality. Her fearlessness and uncompromising attitude reminded me of Maisie.

Catching up on some reviews. This was good but honestly I got a little lost in all the details. It is nice that someone donated it to the library - hopefully I will eventually make it to the end of the series!

One of Winspear‘s best, I couldn‘t put it down. Maisie is asked to look into the possibility a plane was shot down with a gun and the kidnapping of 2 American soldiers. As her case seems to collide with her husband‘s protection of a high individual from the states, they have to work together on some issues

Great story about a unique woman who is mentored to become a healer and detective after the Great War (WW1). I can see how it could be an addictive series. For some reason I am drawn to First World War stories.

Started a book that many like. Supposed to be a good series.

SarahBookInterrupted I got this series for my mother because of the reviews and she loved it! Haven‘t read it yet but maybe when I go for a visit to my mother‘s this summer. 5mo

Loved it, super exciting to discover a series and all of a sudden know what you‘ll be reading for the next year. I just have to figure out how to space them for the podcast so I have other books to talk about 😅

Forced to stop snowboarding after only 3 runs today because my back was so tight, but there‘s nothing like a good excuse to lay in a hot bath and read.

Halfway through and loving this. There‘s so many small details about WW1 I didn‘t know. I‘ve never considered myself to be a war fiction reader but my mom and niece are obsessed with the genre so I‘m excited to recommend this to them (assuming they haven‘t already read it!)
