Pickpick

I read this in a few short sittings. It had the same evocative writing as Wimerra but I enjoyed this story much more. #ozfiction #therip #markbrandi

CarolynM I was in two minds about Wimmera. I found it really frustrating, but I think it was because the outcome of the story was so much what was likely to have happened in reality. I wanted better justice! I've got a copy of this one, but I'm putting it off😬 (edited) 5y
TheRegular_coffeeandbooks I felt the same with Wimmera @CarolynM I enjoyed the writing but it felt too far away from fiction. I read it on the back of too many heavy books with children in horrible circumstances so I may have been a bit biased. I definitely enjoyed The Rip more there was still a sinister undercurrent but I didn‘t feel frustrated at the end. (edited) 5y
