Certainly not as good as Wimmera. Basically a story about two homeless kids with a bit of a mystery. I didn‘t really enjoy it and did the skip reading thing towards the end. @MrsMalaprop #ozfiction

A raw and honest insight into the life of an addict existing on the fringe of the community. Such compelling reading and the voice of the narrator was so clear and strong, it was like being inside her head. But the ending..... so many unanswered questions.
This is like watching a car crash.... I just can‘t turn away.
I read this in a few short sittings. It had the same evocative writing as Wimerra but I enjoyed this story much more. #ozfiction #therip #markbrandi
I can not recommend this taut, devastating, entirely gripping book enough.
Dani is a teenager living on the streets with her friend Anton and he dog Sunny. They meet up with Steve an old acquaintance of Anton‘s and life gets a whole lot worse for them. What will an addict do for their next hit? What will one friend do for another?
THIS is how to write! No need to explain everything, you can be explicit without being didactic.
#BookMail Pt11 This one is a signed large paperback edition of the new book by the author of Wimmera. Set in the city this time, it‘s about a homeless young woman living on the streets & trying to stay safe but the drugs win every time. But Anton looks after her, until Steve appeared & offered his flat to crash in.But there‘s a smell coming from Steve‘s bedroom, and a lock on the door. And he‘s a bit intense. What would you put up with for safety?
