Heartbreaking issues with students at work, long hours, more plumbing problems at home but yahoo! taken care of today: we have hot water & can do laundry dishes etc without leaking & sinks backing up, son highly stressed/anxious with workload. My plans to review comment on Boys in the Boat & Heat & Light on hold. Can not be on Litsy as much as I would like- need to sleep! Do not like feeling disconnected.feeling#fragile #Rocktober #misslitsy

Reggie So a couple of years ago my dad had a crisis of profession where I think he wondered if he was doing enough for his students. He had what we jokingly (we love horror movies) call Freddy Krueger students come visit him. He always has one that makes him work harder. These two were from previous years who had just come by to visit. And my dad had wondered why. He had told me he had to battle every day to make them do their work, try harder, to try 7y

Reggie at all. The thing I should have said was that he was probably one of the only people in their lives who cared enough to want them to be better and that he was a light in their lives. And that‘s all you can be sometimes. I‘m sorry you had a tough day. 7y

But Friday morning when I was teary & feeling low at 7:15 about my student/situation, I impulsively opened the app. The first words I saw were yours.Please know your sharing lifted my heart; felt so much less alone hearing yr dad‘s story.
