Holy cow! I can‘t believe I read all those books! #bookspin #bookspinbingo #doublespin I‘ll probably take September off and we‘ll see about October. It‘s a little crazy at this time of year but seriously: BLACKOUT!!

Loved this book, evokes a wide range of emotions and doesn't force a fairy-tale perfect ending which suits the characters.
I wanted to finish a couple more books, but I'm pretty proud of my June #bookspinbingo

Yes for the sisters!
Loved seeing the fight beside one another and see their bond
This is McDevitt's third Alex Benedict sci-fi mystery novel, featuring Benedict the antiquities dealer and Agnes "Chase" Kolpath, his only employee who is an interstellar pilot and the science brain of the duo.
Like McDevitt's other Alex Benedict novels, this one had an intriguing mystery and was a page turner. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the Benedict novels and finishing up his last two Priscilla Hutchins “Academy” novels.
4/5
This story takes place well before Gamora joins the Guardians of the Galaxy, but her relationship with Nebula is already deeply strained. Both sisters find themselves on a dying planet as pawns in one of the Grandmaster's games.
It was a great story that I was immediately invested in. I loved how the sisters' relationships was displayed with both their love and their lack of trust in one another.

And now I want to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 😜🤓
I've got my June #bookspinbingo ready to go.

Every 2 hundred years the jubilee tides rise to cover most of the planet Miranda‘s surface. With the great tsunami approaching, a nameless bureaucrat is dispatched to track down a charismatic cult leader.
This riff on Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now (with a smidge of The Tempest) takes on the same themes of colonialism, but wraps them in psychedelic* and heady science fiction. Great ending too!
Also quite a lot of tantric sex.
