This book is a thought-provoking exploration of humanity, technology & the blurred lines between the two. The relationship between Liv & Breck is compelling. The self-awareness journey had me questioning the ethics of AI & what it truly means to be “real.” The pacing is intense. The countdown to the contest‘s end adds urgency to every page. A great read that lingers in your mind long after the last page.
Keep reading in comments.

JudeCC I recommend to anyone who‘s into sci-fi & AI epidemics in books.

5/5

I enjoyed this set of fantasy short stories. My favorites were Sucker for Pain where the servant of a witch becomes a vampire and gains her own power, The Animation Games where two betrothed take advantage of their resurrected afterlife to hunt one another now, and Chaos Theory, the longest story in the collection, where the actions of two individuals in one universe have ripple effects across their lives in four other alternative universes.

AllDebooks I enjoying this collection, too. 13h

I found this book to be very useful to the writing community. It's full of worksheets, examples, valuable information & tips to make our lives easier. As a writer myself it's a challenge for me to network. That's not my forte.
This book is filled with all the information you need to start ticking boxes and being able to train yourself to network & lose the fear once & for all.
Thanks for sharing this gem with us. Keep empowering writers out there.

It‘s Christmastime! Molly is excited to spend it w/ her mother & her aunt in their historic bookshop. The holidays become much more dire when someone attempts to murder her friend.

The relationships in these stories continue to be my favorite thing! Seeing these women supporting each other, inter generational friendships is lovely. The pacing was a little off, but the mystery kept me guessing, & I loved the subplot of the treasure hunt.🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

This book is a piece of art. It's full of detailed & beautiful illustrations & organized as a precious timeline about the historical events that shaped the world of botany. What kept me from giving a 5 star rating is that's only concentrated on the history of it instead of botany, which was the main reason for me reading this book. Nonetheless, it's a must read for those of you who love to learn about this topic. #TheBotanistsLibrary #NetGalley

I loved the MC‘s inner voice. It‘s sarcastic and funny and when it‘s not, you can relate to her pain and struggles.
I loved the interactions between the sisters. Their differences and relationship with each other. How they view each other. The way the author let us perceive their life in relationships with the MC was brilliant because you could actually feel what she was going through at the moment. And it was all relatable and believable.

JudeCC ⚠️ Trigger Warning: attempted rape and vivid descriptions of panic attacks.

The mystery regarding a dead body was well written. I loved the way it brought the sisters together while keeping realistic and not sugarcoating any bit of it. They still clashed and was the perfect opportunity for the author to bleed each character.

JudeCC I also loved how the MC talked about panic attacks. It was well executed by the author, very accurate and it resonated with me.
This was a new author for me and a fun refreshing read.

This book is a treat!
It's all about secrets & keeping those you love safe. What life's about, or should be.
It was my first time reading a book by this author and I'm hooked. Her writing style is flawless. I could see and feel every word she wrote. I was invested in the characters since the beginning and I was left thinking about them whenever I had to put the book down.

JudeCC I found the story to be unique, full of action, the right amount of romance and even though it was heart wrenching sometimes, I couldn't get enough of it. The ending was great. I really would have loved the story to continue. I felt as if it was a little too soon or too easy maybe, but other than that, I loved the book.
I'll definitely read more of this author.

An account of the 1906 sinking of the 'Valencia', a ship sailing between San Francisco & Seattle with 108 passengers and 65 crew members aboard. Bad weather & human error combined to cause the 'Valencia' to strike a reef off the coast of Vancouver Island which lead to the deaths of 136 people, including all the women & children onboard.

OutsmartYourShelf This is about a disaster that took place 6 years before the Titanic sinking, on a stretch of coastline notorious for wrecks due to the harsh topography of the coast. The author argues well that it seems to have been a mixture of bad luck (weather) & ill judgment on the part of several people that led to the loss of so many lives. 6d
OutsmartYourShelf My one criticism is that the book spends a lot of time talking about innovations & safety features that simply hadn't been invented yet & I'm not quite sure what the point was. Yes, if they had been available but weren't used, that would have been one thing, but for safety features that hadn't yet been invented? I would have preferred more concentration on those aboard & what happened to those who survived. 3.5🌟

OutsmartYourShelf My thanks to #NetGalley & publishers, Globe Pequot/Lyons Press, for the opportunity to read an ARC.
