I listened to this one while down with a particular bad cold. The cold happened to go perfectly with this fever dream of a novel where lived trauma becomes literal horror. Thanks #netgalley for access to this audiobook.

The food lover in me was immediately drawn to this book and this debut did not disappoint.
I liked Isabella and Molly‘s dynamic, and all the supporting characters in the story (Jeannie!!). The food descriptions were amazing and how this author described landmarks and tidbits about the restaurant and food industries.
Very entertained by this one and I loved the cover!

Tabbi is a privileged rich girl who is heading, under protest, to an exclusive rehab centre in Switzerland. She meets Ruby on the train there & although they don't look that much alike, there's enough of a similarity for Tabbi to hatch a plan. She decides to befriend Ruby & persuade her to swap lives for 6 weeks - Ruby gets an all expenses paid break & Tabbi gets 6 weeks of freedom, but will Ruby be gullible enough to fall for it? (continued)
Surprised, but in a good way.
Loved the humour, the serial killer vibes and discussions, the two social weirdos finding each other; the secondary characters were fleshed out, and there were a couple of twists I actually did not see coming.

Not as dark or despairing as other Moss books, this follows Edith in present day Ireland as she looks back to 1960s Italy. Back then, as a 17 year old on an enforced ‘gap year‘ before Oxford, she was sent to look after her sister who was due to give birth.
Ripeness is certainly an apt description of this book - gorgeous writing and descriptions - I loved it!
Fiona & her sister Amy were always close but when Amy moves away for university they drift apart until Amy suddenly goes missing one day & hasn't been seen or heard of since. Several years later, Fiona rents a room in the same house where Amy had been living & pretends to be a new student all so she can find out what happened to Amy.
The house is shabby & in bad repair & her landlady acts oddly at times. (continued)
What happens when a miserable farm wife gains access to a wizard‘s books of magics & thinks “why not”? Chaos. & then add a sassy familiar, the goblin market getting introduced to capitalism, & a talking plant.
Such fun! You can tell this is a writer raised on Terry Pratchett. There‘s humor & a moving story of a woman deciding what she‘s worth. I wish the side characters hadn‘t been so 1 dimensional, & too many threads left unresolved. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
