Prompt from @ljuliel for #KeepLitsyActive:

Name an author that's an immediate purchase when they release a new book, plus you've read every other book they've written.

I don't buy a lot of books, but a few authors whose new releases I scoop up ASAP from the library: Marilynne Robinson, Otessa Moshfegh, and Margaret Atwood.

John Irving used to be my clear favorite, but I've not been as into his stuff since The Fourth Hand.

ljuliel Thanks, CJ. I don‘t buy all the books I read either . I guess I should have worded the question differently, to : what authors you‘ve read everything of , and will continue to read each of their books as they come out. (edited) 4y
ImperfectCJ @ljuliel I understood what you meant, though. There are always different ways to word things, but if the meaning is clear, I don't think it should be too big a deal for a Litsy post one way or another. 🙂 4y
kaysworld1 I don't buy things brand new there too expensive even books, my first go to would be the library I can always order from another library. I don't borrow books from people I don't have any immediate friends that read. A new author I have come to like is Ambrose Parry I'm listening to his first book way of all flesh and I have the second one on reserve. 4y

ImperfectCJ @kaysworld1 I hadn't heard of Ambrose Parry before your comment. I'll have to check out The Way of All Flesh. Yet another excuse to ignore my miles-long TBR. 🙃 4y
vumblereads I haven‘t read all his books but Neil Gaiman would be kind of an auto buy for me. 4y
ImperfectCJ @vumblereads Neil Gaiman's a good one! What's your favorite of his that you've read? (I really like The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but there are so many good ones.) 4y
vumblereads @ImperfectCJ my first Gaiman book was The Ocean at the End of the Road. That‘s were my fanaticism started 😂 I also love love love #norsemythology, and #thegraveyardbook. I liked #oddandthefrostgiants as well. I didn‘t really like Good Omens though. 4y
