I really wasn‘t supposed to be buying any new books this month, but these three were in the pound shop, so I put forth that they don‘t count. #bookhaul #readerlogic

The Corfu Trilogy | Gerald Durrell
post image

Gerald Durrell writes about #WildCreatures (his odd family included) in such a wonderfully witty and nostalgic way. The Corfu Trilogy is one of my favourite “comfort” reads. ❤️

saresmoore Phew, I stacked that so fast, I think I pulled a thumb muscle. 6y
Jerdencon We are big fans of the tv show - still need to read the books! 6y
LauraBeth I have wanted to read these for so many years. 😀 Your endorsement is going to make me finally get to them! 6y

Aimeesue My Family and Other Animals is one of my favorites. That fight on the ceiling! 6y
Aims42 I was JUST looking up his series on Goodreads yesterday ‼️‼️ Maybe this is a sign I should read him? 🤔#ReaderLogic 6y
Billypar Not on my radar, but curious to try! 6y
Cinfhen It‘s always been on my radar but I‘ve never picked them up!!! I love all the witty titles (edited) 6y
batsy I need to read this! Love these covers 😍 6y
BookNAround I loved the first two of these and need to get to the third! 6y
LeahBergen @saresmoore 😂😂 I think you‘ll like his portrayal of his brother, Larry (he who became the uber-literary Lawrence Durrell, writer of the Alexandria Quartet). He‘s this irritatingly snobby older brother, always pecking away at his typewriter and yelling at Gerry. 6y
LeahBergen @Jerdencon They‘re wonderful! I‘ve been enjoying the show, too. Be forewarned, though - the books are much more from Gerry‘s point of view and about his animals. 6y
LeahBergen @LauraBeth I think you‘ll like them! They‘re sweet and a bit silly (and would make for a good palate cleanser between tougher reads). 😘 6y
LeahBergen @Aimeesue 😆😆 6y
LeahBergen @Aims42 It IS a sign! 😆😆 6y
LeahBergen @Billypar @Cinfhen I hope you give the first one a try some day. They are a strange mix of animal science and obnoxious family anecdotes. 😆 6y
LeahBergen @batsy I think you‘d appreciate the silliness of it. 😆 6y
LeahBergen @BookNAround The third isn‘t quite as a good as the others but I‘d read anything just to hear more about that family! 6y
DeborahSmall Need to read these x 6y
