This was fun! I'd say it's a dependable Julie Anne Long read, and there's nothing wrong with that. Enjoyable characters (both new and old) and a love story between two people of widely differing social class, with a lovely HEA. 4❤️

Finished listening to the audiobook this morning ( love Hoopla) Amanda is turning thirty and wants to have sex for the first time . When Jack turns up unannounced she mistakes him for the man she has hired to do the job. Of course he‘s not. A satisfying historical #romanstsy with lots of 🔥.

So ignore the cover, it‘s kind of weird looking and be prepared to be charmed by the story of a Mika, an average magician with an affinity for quartz and an mid-level magic job. In a moment of crisis she gets in over her head on a rescue to save a baby gargoyle from a black magician. #freeonkindle #romanstsy

This one really wasn't for me. Clearly part of a series, there is neither romantic resolution nor resolution of the mystery by the end of this book. And I guess I just don't connect with characters describing the fashion everyone is wearing and giving dating advice about what not to tell their boyfriends. My lack of connection to this book was also that I was hoping for something more like the Succubus Blues series by Richelle Mead. #romanstsy

Zelma I ❤️ the Succubus Blues series! I've gotten the side eye for recommending that one but people usually end up loving it too. 😆 7y
ScientistSam @Zelma we clearly just have good taste 😉 7y
