Clever, tech‑driven YA mystery about a video that ruins reputations—even though it may be fake. High‑school rivalry, viral gossip, and shocking twists keep this page‑turner grounded in real‑world media weirdness. Compact, relevant, and suspenseful.

The Rumor Game is a young adult contemporary novel about cyber bullying and sex shaming among the children of Washington D.C.‘s elite. This novel had a lot to say but wasn‘t boring or preachy. The storyline moved along quickly and it was entertaining. Like the authors‘ previous novel (Tiny Pretty Things) I think this would make for an entertaining movie or series.

Just finished. It was ok, but it dealt with some pretty hard subjects. I like that we got good representation with each of the 3 girls.

It was really good and tackled some very hard subjects. I liked that all the characters faced consequences for their actions. The atmosphere was great. I wish the secondary character had been more fleshed out as we only really got to know Baez and Riley, and a bit about Jase outside of the MCs. Lots of rep which I liked. I would have liked to learn more about JuJu especially, and Chance as well.

This is a book I‘ve started reading a few days ago. It‘s told in the P.O.V of 3 different high school girls. I‘m interested to see where this goes

Overall I really liked this book but I didn‘t love it. It was very real. It feels very much like over privileged teen agers let loose in a society where they see themselves as self-sufficient adults, but are really scared little kids looking for help and acceptance.
