The prequel to Practical Magic. It‘s the story of the aunts. I think I enjoyed this one more that the original. #bookhunt #scavengersaturday

ShyBookOwl Ooh good to know. I bought Practical Magic last week. It's high on my TBR 4y
Sargar114 @ShyBookOwl I enjoyed Practical Magic too! I think it‘s just a personal preference. 4y
ShyBookOwl @Sargar114 well u inspired me to start it, so thx! 4y

This was one one of my favourite reads last year. I loved that it gave me a magic school setting, but still had an adult non-magic protagonist to relate to.

The magical world of Middle Earth, with dwarves and elves, hobbits and men and dragons.

I think this was the first book I ever bought with a map inside it! And I was hooked. I love maps and illustrations and glossaries and little pieces of world building like this. ❤️

ShyBookOwl Nice! This was the only other book I could think of that had a map, but I haven't read it. I just know it famously has a map lol I do intend to get to it one day though 4y
BookmarkTavern @ShyBookOwl I highly recommend it! My dad read it to me when I was little, and it helped me develop a lifelong love of fantasy. ❤️ 4y

Becoming | Michelle Obama

I must confess, this has been on my TBR stack since the moment it came out. And I‘ve owned a copy for just as long! 🤭

Michelle Obama is an intelligent, thoughtful, hard working, classy, and generous woman that I have respected for a long time. And it‘s about time I got around to this book.

(I'm sorry I'm so inconsistent with this.)

I heard about this horror book on the Black Chick Lit podcast last October and I've been meaning to read it ever since. I really like Danielle and Molly (the hosts) and respect their opinions about books. They have introduced me to a lot of female black authors. I haven't listened to the episode about this book though because there are spoilers.

ShyBookOwl I forgot about this one but it's also on my TBR! Thx for the reminder!! 5y
Sace @ShyBookOwl You're welcome! I will probably tuck this away for October. There are so many other books I want to read too (like some Beverly Jenkins and Patricia Sargeant...) 5y
ShyBookOwl @Sace it does seem like a great Halloween read. I'm starting with her other book, My Soul to Keep, because it's free though kindle unlimited 😊 5y
Sace @ShyBookOwl I just discovered that Hoopla has My Soul To Keep! Also one called The Between that looks really good. 5y
ShyBookOwl @Sace it does!! Thank you. Adding to my tbr 5y

Costa Rica is my dream spot, but the tagged book is anything but dreamy. It's about the exploitation of workers by the United Fruit Company (also immortilazed by the Harry Belafonte hit Day-O....also about exploitation.)

Always wanted to read this book, and now seems like the best time. Such powerful lines.
"There are years that ask questions and years that answer.Janie had had no chance to know things,so she had to ask.Did marriage end the cosmic loneliness of the unmated?Did marriage compel love like the sun the day?"

Last week‘s #BookHunt #ScavengerSaturday! I guess I missed it 😁 this book is set in Japan and west Canada. I would love to visit many Asian countries, and Japan just seems like it would be amazing. Especially some of the mountains and jungles in this story. Canadian wilderness sounds relaxing, too, would love to go there as well 💚

My mom sent me this book after she read it years ago! It has been on my TBR shelf forever.
