I've never been to Ireland but I always gravitate towards books set there. I also love books set by water and in the mountains. #setinabelovedlocation #17booklove

Reecaspieces I gravitate toward Alaska. Have no idea why...I hate being cold!! 8y
CocoReads Oh Alaskas good too! 8y

#SetInABelovedLocation #17BookLove #Egypt

Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles tend to cover a lot of geographical locations. Part of The Vampire Lestat takes place in Egypt (with the creepy King and Queen of the damned). An interesting part of the story set in a beloved location ☺

#17booklove #day11 #setinabelovedlocation I visited Japan (Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo) a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with the culture, people, scenery and food! This book, although written by a British novelist, is an examination of the turmoil in postwar Japan, a poignant read.

I always consider the state of Minnesota my home even though I moved away years ago. I love reading books set on my home state, especially if I'm feeling homesick! #setinabelovedlocation #17booklove

Florence was the first city in Europe I ever visited while I was in college and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I have been back once and still found it magical. #setinabelovedlocation #17booklove

While I absolutely love Nova Scotia, I also love and miss Ottawa wholeheartedly. We lived there for 6 years, and so many things we love are still there (friends, family, amazing food). I used to live in the neighbourhood this book takes place in, and actually read this the first time while I lived there. #setinabelovedlocation #17booklove @jess.how

mllemay I didn't know you lived in Ottawa! That's where I'm from :) 8y
sherryvdh @mllemay I did! I moved to NS in 2009, but I go back to Ottawa and visit as much as I can. 8y
mllemay @sherryvdh that's cool! If we're ever in Ottawa at the same time, we should do a Litsy meetup! 8y

CouronneDhiver I miss living in Ottawa... such a great city! 🇨🇦 8y
KassKho @sherryvdh and @mllemay didn't realize I would find people from Ottawa on Litsy! I don't live there anymore since I moved to Montreal but I visit my family there often enough! I'm curious what part of Ottawa does the book cover? 8y
mllemay @KassKho I didn't think I would find people from Ottawa on here either, but it turns out there are a few of us! 8y
sherryvdh @KassKho It's around the Glebe area. 8y

Today's #17booklove we have books #setinabelovedlocation. My three favorite places I have ever been are Alaska, Maine, and San Francisco. I actually bought The Alaskan Laundry while I was there.
